I am very mad Twisted Evil  Twisted Evil  Twisted Evil  Twisted Evil  Twisted Evil  Twisted Evil infact there are not enough devils to show mad I am.

Bath show has decided to start to charge the public to get in again so I cant show Wookie. This is my local show and was going to be her fist champ show.

They are charging the public £4 to get in, I cant see many people outside dogs going every show entry they lose adds up too 5 members of the public, I wont be going or entering my 2 dogs and I expect my friend wont go either as she cant show her young weimaraner so that will be propley another 3 or 4 entries from her.

I will write to the secretary and will ask the people I know on the committee about it but its too late for this year Crying or Very sad

In know it's not fair is it?!  If enough people protest they may change their mind, Paignton did last year even after they had sent out schedules so there still may be hope.  Blu is undocked but I will still put my tuppence worth of moaning in! Wink

I can't get why they would rather have £4 per public and turn down over £20 of entry fee Question  Evil or Very Mad

Thats a pain in the butt  Mad   Wonder why they have started to charge.  Are they perhaps feeling the affects of the credit crunch?  Personally I would be quite happy to have another £1 added onto my entry to help cover the costs if it allowed those with docked dogs to show.  I don't expect everyone else to think the same mind and likely they don't  Laughing

They did always use to charge but dropped it last year, I know a few people on the comittee in passing so will ask them when I see them. In Baths case think it might be the weather causing a problem rather than the credit crunch as they have been plagued in recent years.

I too am mad although it doesn't affect me yet but I don't like the way they have done a u-turn.

I can't understand why the public would want to go to that show anyway, it's always dreadful weather Rolling Eyes

They could always charge on the other days and drop the admission on gundog day, but as it always on a Satuday I suppose they thunk that is the day they will get the most joe public

I found out today why we have to pay a carparking fee when we go to the NEC.........LKA, Crufts etc buy the carparking spaces from the NEC and charge us direct. All these years we have been moaning at the NEC and it isn't them after all Evil or Very Mad

Can't blame SKC for that - NCP own the car park and they charge the £3 not SKC. ( as far as I know anyway - perhaps I'm wrong)

When I asked one of the major champ show secretaries about charging admission I was told that the gate on that particular show was £7K and there was no way the HPR world would enter enough "docked" dogs to compensate the loss of gate revenue.

I know Bath weather has been dreadful lately but they are normally a show that "does" attract quite a lot of public visitors which is probably what they found last year.

It will be interesting to see how the shows fair this year with the credit crunch, loss of pedigree sponsorship and revenue from their trade stand and the normal downturn regards to judges/venues etc?   I do know from general chit chat from other exhibitors (undocked breeds) that they very much resent increased car park charges just so that the docked breeds can be shown!
