We did our first grouse count for this year today - what a beautiful day (normal uniform Peter) and so lovely to get up on the moor again.  We had a few extra dogs with us today so were taking it in turns to run so that everybody could have a go.  Ekko had a point on a pheasant and one on a grouse - the only two birds that were around when it was our turn.

Roll on the next one.

We had a great day, Mainly spectating but Fred managed to get a couple of good points at the end of the day, when i gave him a run, it was our first time up on the moors, and it was a beautiful day,    Cool

thanks karen for telling Fred off,   (he has fallen in lust with Ekko and is being a real pain)   Ekko is now also telling him off  as she is fed up with him as well.   Mad

It was lovely weather down here yesterday, if it was anything like that up your way, you must have had an especially nice day.

Nice photo and sounds like you had a good day.  Do they discourage the pheasants on the moor?

They were supposed to be starting here (hoping to get out with Rob if I can find a babysitter as he is wanting to use my gwp), but burning has got in the way so he's off doing that instead. Bit windy for counting though today so just hope they can manage to control the burning lol.

It is a driven pheasant shoot so don't suppose it would be very easy to keep them off.
