Please can everyone be aware that it is a critical time of year in the countryside for ground nesting birds. Everything from skylarks to grouse are nesting and raising their young. It only takes a little bit of disturbance from a person or dog to make them abandon. They are having a pretty tough time of it at the moment anyway, with the weather.
When approached, a bird usually alarms. The best thing to do is to try and follow the bird as she will be taking you away from the nest.
Found a day old partridge yesterday - don't suppose s/he has made it through today _________________ Guy; Ellie Topaz Catja. http://www.epagneulbreton.org.uk
