Hi there,
Am new to the forum and have enjoyed reading lots of your posts.
I own a two and a half year old GWP who I have had lots of probs with, but we now seem to be working together nicely.  We currently attend the GSP club training at Lightwater which is brilliant, but only held once a month.
Am soon to be getting another puppy and wondered if anyone knew of any another hpr training in the Hampshire area?  As the Lightwater club is only monthly, I don't want to 'share' training sessions between the two of them!
With thanks, Helen T.

Helen - welcome to the forum.

Mike Bevan runs an HPR training sessiopn once a month on a Sunday afternoon.  very friendly - in Elstead nre Guildford.  free
Chris Duffey runs a 'retriever' class on a Sunday pm weekly in the winter, weekday evenings in the summer.  £5 a session.

I am in the Alton area and happy to meet people for dog training sessions.  I have tracked down some quite good venues.

I will pm Mikes email.  It does not clash with lightwater I believe.

I have never heard of one in Alton.

Thanks Caz, I live in Farnborough, Hants so Elstead would be better if possible.

Hi Helen

I also go to Lightwater, so next time you are there say hi. I'm usually accompanied by 1 or 2 Large Munsterlanders!

I have also been to Elstead, though lately it seems to have clashed with all my holidays (and we only live in Godalming so it's very handy).

Hi!  The only person I know with Munsters at Lightwater is Neil as I tend to get put in his group with Mike.  (Mike understands my cheeky young Wire.  Wink )  I really like it there, I find the people really friendly and supportive.  How do you find Elstead, is it similar?

Helen - you must be good if you get put with Neil. I'm usually in John Parnham's group and he is excellent. I too like Surrey, very friendly and helpful people.

Elstead is very similar. I understand many years ago it was a GWP group and over time it has changed and is sort of a private group of like minded individuals who meet. I found them really approachable and most of the people I recognised either from Surrey GSP training or Sussex GSP training, both great bunches of people. I'm sure you will be made to feel very welcome. They even welcome Large Munsterlanders Laughing  Laughing

NO I PROMISE WE ARE NOT AS GOOD AS NEIL!!  We have been going for a bit over a year now and when I first began Bill my dog had some pretty serious issues with other dogs.  Michael took me under his wing (i think his dog had had similar issues) and with lots of help and advice we have cracked it.  Laughing They have all been great.
I like John Parnham though too,  I shadowed him at the Spinone Day where he judged the puppies and he gave some great, no messing around advice!  Some of those poor Spinone youngsters had a bit of a shock!  Laughing
