Hello from New Yrok. We have hunted with shorthairs for 13 years. We recently acquired an import shorthair who is now 10 months old. I use many of the retriever drills to teach him handling skills and it works out great. Only, I have to use birds, bumpers are a no go for him.
I hope to learn much from this site.

Nice to meet you Francine, when you say short hairs I take it you are talking about German shorthaired pointers?

Thanks, I have Weims who come in both Long and Shorthaired varieties (although I don't think they are recognised in the US?)
