I'm saying Hi

Just joined the forum, thanks to Bill T pointing me here.

I am the owner of two retired HPR's, GSP 12yrs old and I Spinone 10yrs old...........so thought I may as well get myself a new trainee.

GWP pup 10weeks tomorrow, so will be reading lots of the previous posts and asking lots of questions.

I will be training her up to shoot with on our small rough walked up shoot and maybe some trialling, if poss.

Anyone got any immediate advice please.................and no I can't take her back???

Thanks
Wombat

Probably the one thing I have learned is that I didn't put the 'stop and look at me' in early enough.  But if you have two HPRs already you will know that!

Welcome to the board from another gwp owner and in the next county up.  Where did you get your pup from?  "Countrygirl" has just got a wirey pup - same litter?  She's posted pics.

Thanks for the replies and advice, looking forward to more pointers!

Bindi is from the Mustwork kennel, near Aberystwyth..............a Welsh GWP!!

If you can remind me how to post photos I will have a go.

Helen are you North or South Lancashire?

Hi Caz

We shall have to swap notes on training then.

Bindi is recalling OK in the house and down our long hall way, but outside in courtyard with some distractions she doesn't want to know.

She is heeling on lead and off lead, again in hall way. On lead in courtyard is OK, but not off.

She does sit really well in most situ's.

Not sure if I am pushing/expecting too much at such an early age?
Are you training already??

Going for last jab today, so the world will open up.

Regards
Wombat

Hi Wombat and Welcome to the site Very Happy   Yes, piccies please!! Very Happy

You mentioning your hallway made me laugh as it was exactly the training ground we started at when I started off training my Blu!!  Those were the good old days!! Laughing

Keep up the good work and look forward to hearing how you are getting on.  Great name for pup by the way! Very Happy

Hi Lisa

Thanks.

I am a great lover of Curry, her name was going to be Bringal (Aubergine), but it was a bit of a mouthfull. So became Bindi, as in Bhindi Bhajee, Ochre/Ladys fingers.

Love the name Blu, considered it, but a bit masculine!

Regards
Wombat
