Hi,

Been lurking for a few weeks, just got round to joining.  I have 3-year-old GWP bitch called Tiney, who accompanies me deer stalking.  She's found a few deer now and really getting the hang of it.  She would benifit from more regular outings but we only manage trips once a month or so.

Cheers

Mark

Thanks for the welcome...sometimes I'd love to know what deer stalking is about too!   Wink

There are people on the forum far more qualified than me to talk about deer stalking but I can let you know what  do.  Once I have worked out how to post images I'll put together a post

No particular line as far as i can tell.  She was the last pup left from a local stalkers dog.  Parents were Bramble Tye and Grizewyre Hobby and The Complete Viking was a grandfather who is quite a popular stud dog in the deer stalking world as far as I can tell.  Wittekind, Maplehaze, Wiggsmansburg, Gavic and Cascade all feature in there somewhere!

Would love to know a bit more about her provenance but I leave breeding to those more qualified!

She pointed a Muntjac this morning which I am pleased about...she also points cats, squirrels and wood pigeons so I am trying to get her more deer focused.

Sorry, I was just experimenting.  Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes

For years I have been putting pics on using a host and then the brackets etc.

I did this one by just putting attach file and using one off my computer.  I bet you lot have been doing it all the time, that's why your pics are so much bigger than mine Laughing  Laughing  Laughing

That's a manky bird Holly is carrying.  It had been retrieved so many times from the water that day Laughing

So come on Mark use the attach file to put your pics on....... Very Happy  Very Happy  Very Happy  Very Happy

So your bitch is a relation to my older dog, he is a Gavic and was born in quaritine from americam lines a litter sister went to  some people who work for the forestry and used to show in the game keeper classes at Crufts they are Grizewyre I thing, you are right the complete vicking was popular with worker I think I only saw him once and he died recently, if memory serves me right(im sure Sharon will put me right) he was from Danish lines, as my new pups father is.

That would fit... Gavic Buffolo Girl of Grizewyre was stood to the Complete Viking producing Grizewyre Hobby.. who my friend bought of someone in Cumbria.  I wonder if Grizewyre are the Forestry people from Grizedale Forest, Lake District - I've met them at Crufts - never realised my dog might be related.

It's a small world/gene pool!
