Hi, I'm Jo and I own what must be the laziest English Pointer in the world. Purdy also known as couch-potato! However, she will play fetch with a ball all day in the garden with her friend Deefor (Husky-X). She doesn't work (lady of leisure) but hopefully that is all to change when I move.

Welcome to the board Jo.

We have 3 pointers, although it's up to 4 for the summer as we are looking after a friends young bitch. I love working them and just to see them out on the moor running hard. Lovely sight. We also have 2 gwp's, as well as 3 spaniels.

What are you planning on doing with your pointer? Would love to see photos.

Hi Helen, Madmax,

My husband is hopefully going to use her for a bit of rough-shooting - rabbits/pigeons, not her original use, but anything to get her off the couch! I think she has too much show breed in her to do any serious work, but she loves retrieving so we'll have a go. Mind you, she's 4 years old now so who knows? (bets are on that the Husky-X will do a better job!) Will try to post picture later.

Will be fun trying though I imagine. I'm sure she'll do ok.

Well, after a few attempts I finally have a pic for you. It took a while, most of the pictures were of a tail and the garden, but no dog!

I can't see the photos Jo. You can upload them from this site, just click "add image to post" which is below the text box.
