Just a quickie but has anyone been hunting in the tyrol/innsbruck area of the austrian alps?????? Specifically on deer??
My friend Anna is currently travelling through the area with Graf (weim) has managed to bump into a man on a skidoo with two GLPs who was out hunting deer and persuaded him to take her hunting but she's not been on deer before and its deep snow, very cold conditions at the moment so any tips or dos and don't would be really appreciated.
I did some deer training with Graf whilst he was with me, he very good at tracking and spent most of yesterday digging up the day befores deer blood trail under the snow but we did recovery of shot deer not live hunting.
Any particular precautions to take with his feet in the cold??? we don't get snow very often here and certainly not cold enough to have had any practise on it, Grafs paws did swell a little yesterday although he didn't seem bothered by the cold at all. Should he be wearing boots or is there something she should do after he's back at the van???
off the cuff opportunities like this don't come along very often so she really wants to make the most of it and a good impression. _________________ These are my personal opinions and do not represent in any way the views of the WCGB.
