Hi Hana,
Lovely face on your dog!
I think the breeder of our dogs, Mike Melynk, has been in touch with you? He's heading out to Czech Republic at the end of this year for a couple of years on a posting and he is taking the parents of our two (Dusty and Birka) with him
Regards

Nicky,
I am in touch with Mike and looking forward meeting him and his dogs.
I have read somewhere(I think it was at another forum.) that you use your dogs for falconry. What birds have you got? I had an opportunity to see falcons hunting, there was a kind of competition near the place where I live 2 years ago and I was absolutelly stunned. I have read many books about falconry since than. Lovely birds they are.

Hi Hana,
We fly peregrines and merlins. The peregrines are aimed at all sorts from partridge to greater black backed gulls(my other half does landfill bird control)! And the merlins fly at Skylarks. We're breeding peregrines and merlins at the moment - so babies are imminent.
Working the dogs with falcons is really not that much different, except you miss out the retrieve bit! And the dog has to be well behaved enough to be able to be ignored for a while once the falcon has made a kill, without causing total chaos elsewhere. A good falconry dog will also track down the bird on it's kill if appropriate, and sit and guard them both against foxes etc. until you catch up, which can be some time depending on the terrain!
If you ever come over here - you're always welcome to come and see what happens.

Lovely photos!
Would love to see birds of prey working with dogs. I watched a merlin today hunting over the heather.

Hi Helen, aren't they wonderful to see? Ours are making a meal of breeding at the moment - typical woman (even if I say it myself!) she calls him over for mating and then decides she wants to kill him, poor little man! I think her hormones have gone into overdrive! Hopefully, we should get eggs very soon! _________________ Nicky |

This is Didi. She's officially not a pedigree small munsterlander (no papers), but she and her ancestors are from just across the border of Muensterland. I call Didi a farmer's small munsterlander

Hi there,
Are you trying to confuse me or is the first photo a `Grosse'? |

What is a grosse? Large muensterlander? No , Didi is just 50 cm tall and not b&w. Ok ok, the picture is a bit pale. Will post another soon! _________________
