Luckily, where we live, there is not problem at all with using a starting pistol etc for training.

Does antone know the out come of the court case involving the two ladies using a blank firing pistol for gundog training earlier this year?

Given the article on starter pistol / dummy launchers and their use, the information that was circulated at the time of the case, I can not see how this is possible....did they get support from BASC ?
A conditional discharge means that something they were doing was against the law, the events as described or the article must have a flaw as they appear to say the same. I thought this case would improve our understanding of what we are and are not allowed to do using blank firing pistols etc when training our dogs......obviously not

| I can't open the link, my puter is a little ill . So my responce may be way out in left field . If you can't use a starters pistol because it looks like a real handgun (don't know if there is a blank firing device that does not look like one ) why not use a shotgun with blanks . As I do not live in the UK is there more Draconian (sp) gun laws that protect the criminal and criminal use of firearms while punishing the law abiding citizen that I am not aware of , my gut tells me that there is . |
