Given the article on starter pistol / dummy launchers and their use, the information that was circulated at the time of the case, I can not see how this is possible....did they get support from BASC ?
A conditional discharge means that something they were doing was against the law, the events as described or the article must have a flaw as they appear to say the same. I thought this case would improve our understanding of what we are and are not allowed to do using blank firing pistols etc when training our dogs......obviously not

for what?? you don't need a licence for a starter pistol??? _________________ These are my personal opinions and do not represent in any way the views of the WCGB.
I can't open the link, my puter is a little ill . So my responce may be way out in left field . If you can't use a starters pistol because it looks like a real handgun (don't know if there is a blank firing device that does not look like one ) why not use a shotgun with blanks . As I do not live in the UK is there more Draconian (sp) gun laws that protect the criminal and criminal use of firearms while punishing the law abiding citizen that I am not aware of , my gut tells me that there is .
