I just wanted to say hello as I am a frequent "lurker". I like the discussions about HPR dogs in the UK, and hunting dogs in general. A few years back I enjoyed several months in the Midlands on business. In my travels I always wonder about game bird habitat, and some areas north of Manchester looked very "birdy" to me. Whenever I see large rolling areas of prairie I can't help imagining a dog hunting it, and what it might find.
I grew up around Labrodor Retrievers, and even owned an English Springer Spaniel who we lost 4 years ago at the ripe old age of 15. We now have a female vizsla, our first versatile. Rina will be two years old in a few days and has been a joy... smart, easy to train, and loves BIRDS!
We hunt primarily pheasant and grouse, but do some waterfowl hunting as well. In the "off-season" we have been participating in NAVHDA and AKC hunt tests.
How did it go on at the Sunday Sunday Hunt Test at Rice creek?
Not sure if i will be at 4 Brooks on Wednesday. I had a Heart Attack on Monday the 10th. So I have been told to take it easy. Don't Doctors know that for a Bird Dog Guy, NOT being able to run your dog is hard on them? LOL
I am out of the hospital, and back to work, so I may sneak up on Wednesday, and let Vern get a little run in. _________________ Mark Dinsmore
