Hello everybody and welcome to THE forum for working HPRs (Versatile hunting dogs in the US, I believe)
This forum is intended to be for anyone who works and/or shows their HPR, anyone who has HPR ambitions and anyone who wants to Do Something with their HPR!
We welcome members who train or compete in any dog sport - we don't consider "working" to mean only gundog work, but any of the K9 disciplines. We'd ask for respect from all members of each other's chosen areas. There are hopefully training methods which we can help each other with, across disciplines, and we want this to be one of the strengths of this board.
Similarly, although the board is UK based, we very much welcome input from all over the world, and again we'd ask for respect from members towards others who use different methods. Feel free to debate any training methods as much as you like - there is no subject which is off limit - but rational, factual and scientific discussions are much better than offensive, personal insults.
Lastly, everyone here is equal and everyone's opinion is valid - from someone who got their puppy yesterday to an old hat who has 30 years experience. So - people who are new to HPRs should not feel obliged to preface every post with "I'm just a lowly novice", eating humble pie till they throw up, but should just come right out and say what they think. And people who have 30 years experience should use it to guide others in a non-confrontational way, while remembering that once there was a day when they had their first puppy, too.
If anyone has any forum problems, like they can't see posts or log in etc, please PM admin. I probably won't be able to do anything, but hey I'll fiddle around and see what happens.
Bye for now and get discussing because I've made lots of lovely folders for you to fill....
