Minimum of one to two hours of off lead exercise daily in a park or open space.

That'll scare most people off!  Mine don't get that every day!

Thank you for fixing the link.

It's to far for me to go for an introduction as I have a few aggression issues with my current GWP.

There is no way she would accept a new dog in the house until she had known it at least a month with them walking together off lead every day.

Shame as Freckles looks lovely.  Awful name though. LOL

I see they also have a Weimaraner bitch. 7yrs old

Why are these dogs not going back to the breeder Question  Rolling Eyes
one.eyed.dog

I don't know.

The rescue would be able to say.

I did email them the breed rescue details.

Was quite taken with Freckles but, one is enough for me at the moment

Dotty has joined Freckles now and she looks lovely.  I really hope they find perfect homes next time around.

My 3 wire dont get nearly that much exercise, its brain exercise as much as body exercise they need. Would be good if they could leaise with breed rescue as I dont think they have anything in at moment.

Unfortunately it seems they won't be handed over to rescue as the Mayhew only deals with breed rescues recommended to them or those they have dealt with in the past.

I would love to know who these breeders are who think it is only acceptable to take dogs back if they are entire - just shows that they only will if it benefits them  Crying or Very sad  Crying or Very sad

I sent Ian Roberts details and they are on the GWP rescue forum to.  Saying to contact Mayhew where they are.
Ghilliegumdrop

I see that Dottie has been reserved.

Here is an update on her

Hello, my name's Freckles,

I'm a seventeen-month-old, female German Wirehaired Pointer, who came to the Mayhew because my owner wasn't looking after me properly. Sadly, I spent most of my early life kept in a crate, which means I missed out on getting to know other dogs and people when I was a puppy, so I'm a little timid with strangers. But once I get to know you, I'm very affectionate and playful and can't stop wagging my tail! I'll bring you my soft toys, which I love and carry around with me in my mouth, and I'm always eager for a game of fetch. I form strong bonds with the people I get to know, usually latching myself onto one person in the household who I can then become a little possessive and protective of, so a home without children would suit me best.

I'm not too sure about other dogs because I haven't met many and am still learning what you do. I need to be socialized more and I'm sure I'll be fine, but I think, ultimately, I may prefer to be the only dog in my new home. I'm learning lots of new things and am very nearly house-trained now and am getting better at coping with being left alone. My new owners should be experience dog owners who are aware of the hard work and commitment involved in caring for a dog. They will need to be either experienced with Pointers or to have fully researched my breed type. They tell me here I'm a very clever girl and will relish training classes. As well as training classes, I'll need a minimum of one to two hours of off-lead exercise in a park or other open space every day. This should be on a long-line at first until I build up my confidence.

Why are these things always written as if the dog typed it?
one.eyed.dog

I know. Mad or what.

They have been re-homed as far as I know.  Apologies for not saying earlier.
