A Great Weekend

Mugi and I just wanted to share what a great weekend we have had.

The BCGB ran a Training Day yesterday and with great facilites, trainers and fellow handlers we learned loads (also at the pub at the end of the day Wink ) and Mugi and I both progressed on the day and have some top tips as to where we should be heading. I was very firmly encouraged to push Mugi and myself further as he shows such enthusiasm for working so as long as he remains keen and healthy we will see what we can achieve. The trainer wants me to trust my dog who despite age he feels will teach me so much as long as I trust him and learn from him. I have also been offered help fairly local to me so I can learn to understand him.

Today was the Club Open Show (and my birthday Wink ) and Mugi did me proud despite some dodgy handling and has come home with a very nice trophy (which eclipses poor Freddy's Agility Trophy) for Best Veteran Dog.

Oh, and Guy - I thank you for getting the hunting bell but I am afraid Freddy thinks you are horrible as he can't hide quite so easily now Laughing Laughing .

I will endorse Cressy and Mugi's performance. One goes to events like these and comes away with some memories that will last a lifetime. One particular picture i have in my mind is a 'supposedly' aged dog - who had never done water retrieves before - swimming out to bring in his personal rabbit skin covered fabric bone!! What a joy to see. With more style than many yunger ones!!

Sorry about the bell - you need to tell them it is a proper becassier bell (french for woodcock hunter) - you could have bought an oversized cat bell - how would they then feel Laughing

Definitely sounds like a good weekend. Well done Mugi! Happy birthday as well.

Wow Sue, double congrats!

Sue - you kept the birthday bit very quiet, didn't you!

Glad to see how fit Mugi was looking, and how much he is enjoying life with you.

As for the piranah puppy - what a cutie!
Chilly

Well done on your success!!

Incidently it was my birthday on 2nd June, the day before yours I believe!!! Happy Belated Birthday to you Cressy!!!

We had some success the weekend before, Bank Holiday Weekend.

I have been training Mila (Addaci Mystic Ocean At Vizellen), now 10 months, to work in the field initially for Working Tests with a view to Field Trial when ready. Claire, my other half has been training Mila for the ring.

Last Bank Holiday Weekend, Claire took Mila into the ring at Bath Champ Show on the Saturday where Mila won her Puppy Class, went onto win Best Puppy Bitch and then Reserve Best Puppy in Breed.

On the Sunday, Claire took Mila to Edwinstowe Open Show where Mila Won Best Puppy in Breed and a respectable 2nd in Junior.

On the Bank Holiday Monday I took both Mila and Harvey (Danllwyth Sundance At Vizellven), now just over 2 years old, to the Hungarian Vizsla Club Working Test held at Cornbury Park.

Harvey came a respectable 9th in an extremely large Novice Class.

Our little star Mila though only went on to be awarded two Medals, A Shield and a Trophy.

The Shield was for the best working Vizsla Puppy.

There were over 100 dogs in attendance and Mila went onto to be awarded the Trophy for the highest scoring Vizsla in the competition. She got a total of 90/100 for all four tests!

We are so proud of the pair of them!!!

The Shield and Trophy are absolutely humongous and way a tonne!!!
