agility showsSome questions....:
What are the different classes at an agility show?
How do you progress from one to the next?
What is the difference between KC shows and non-KC shows? Are there fewer dogs entered in non-KC shows? Are they easier? Or are they all equally as tough?
What is your typical "day out" at an agility show like? Is there a lot of waiting around for your turn? Do people warm their dogs up before their go - is there equipment to do that on?
Thanks

agility showsKC agility shows start at elementary and progress through to starters, novice, intermediate, senior, advanced and champion status. Dogs are measured and jump at their respective heights.
Non KC events eg UKA are always limited to dogs running so that everyone gets 4 runs per dogs guaranteed and dogs accrue points to work their way up from beginner to champion status. The rankings are not intercahngeable between KC and non KC events.
KC shows are usually bigger and the number of runs usually limited to maximum of 3 per dog, more official and a bit more beauracratic- my opinion!
There are classes for ABC - anything but collies for our HPR's.
All agility is great fun and the dogs seem to love it.
suggest you go onto www.agilitynet.co.uk to see what it's all about
