Yes, I had hoped to take all three but Belle is coming into season, so will have to leave Freckles with her. I have a feeling I entered Freckles nfc anyway by mistake. So it'll just be Allez I think. It's 3 hours each way (previously same as SKC for me) but I've been told it's a long queue to get into the ground, so I don't know how long to leave to get there - we have LM in front of us - 48 of them starting at 9am, should take 1.5 to 2 hours, so I reckon I have to leave at 6am - scunner! I thought it would be easier moving down here not worse!

Would have loved to have entered but as the pup is docked the law of the land will not permit our attandance as there is an entrance fee for the public despite the fact the society owns its own ground
Oh well plenty other shows to go to ....

Have just emailed Liz with my apologies for tomorrow - my knee that I twisted when I fell on icy decking last November is playing up - bad night last night and really painful now, so have decided not to do the 7 hours driving and standing on my feet all day. So if anyone else is going, ggod luck adn I'll see you another time. Leeds maybe as I'll have a co-driver and it's a few weeks yet.

Sorry to hear about your knee, probably all this running round the Tussocks with Bill.

Don't envy anyone the weather! We can see Blackpool tower from just up the road and when we were driving over the tops yesterday, it looked AWFUL over there.
How did everyone get on?

We had a fabulous day with our Taylor (breed's youngest "full" champion) winning the DCC/BOB and a 2nd CC with Taylor's younger full sister. Taylor went on to win Group 4
Weather was dire - very cold, very wet and more like a winter's day than the longest day!! Our judge stayed out and the last few bitch classes were judged in the rain but at least the dogs had room to move. When we left there were parts of the ground under water and it was still very cold but it had stopped raining.
Have just heard this morning that the showground is being evacuated due to the high winds are bringing down the tents Let's hope that everyone gets themselves and their dogs out there safely...... Not sure what will actually happen - will the show be abandoned or just move everyone out until the tents are taken down and then continue with the judging out in the open rings ??

The show has been abandoned due to adverse weather.
I hope everyone who has to travel far is safe.

Thanks Kerry
I know this isn't a dog show list but it is a dog show topic
News from Blackpool is that they have abandoned the show and as of 12 o'clock all exhibitors were asked to evacuate the show by going around the perimeter fence and not through the actual show ground. There are tractors holding down the BIS tent and the catering and secretary's tent have blown away. One of the benching tents has been blown into the next field and there is a lot of flying debris on the showground. Trade stand holders have lost part/s of their stalls and were trying to safely pack away and get off the show ground.
How very scary it must be and I hope that everyone and their dogs have got off the ground safely

Goodness, how awful. I hope no-one is hurt and they all get their dogs and belongings safely into their vehicles. That surely doesn't happen often, does it? If this is global warming I don't want it.

I remember this happening before back in 1990 or 1991 I think. I was showing my first Standard Poodle and we had to move out of the benching tent as it was blowing away.

I'm glad we were on yesterday, rather than today. I remember years ago at Darlington there were problems with tents being blown down and poles broken. What a nightmare! Hope no one was hurt.

I've just had a look at the Higham's website with pics of the devastation http://www.highampress.co.uk/info.asp - Scarey.

been out doing a spot for training on the shoot and got home to find this post. We have had a strong wind and some dead branches were down but nothing drastic ... obviously closer to the coast the wind was much stronger !!
Hope everyone is ok and that traders haven't lost too much £££ in stock/equipment.. as if times are not hard enough !!
On a brighter note :: Sharon .. many congrats for yesterday.

OMG! I had heard the weather yesterday was bad but blimey it has got a lot worse today. Those photographs are unreal ! I hope everyone and their dogs got out safely.
Really well done Sharon, you must be over the moon. And clever Taylor's sister taking her 2nd CC too! I'm sure the 3rd won't be far away

On a lighter note, I don't know how the English get this notion of Scottish weather being bad. Compared to you for the last few years anyway its been a big contrast.
