Interesting little dog, never worked with one meself. Have seen 'em run in the field, one I saw seemed to be very birdie and well mannered.

I've never seen a Boykin in the flesh but I've read they're damn good workers.

It looks like a mini GLP! I quite like it!

It look like a German breed "the Wachtelhund."
They were in the early days also connected with GLP.

They are attractive aren't they?? They look like a cross between a field spaniel and a GLP!!

I've just seen this thread. Last year, at Westonbirt, I bumped into a woman with three spaniels. I thought they were working cockers. Close up, their heads were too round. They were Boykin Spaniels. From memory, I wouldn't say that these looked remotely GLP like. SO, are they different in the UK? This woman bred them and I think she said that she was the only UK breeder. For the life of me, I cannot remember if she worked them or not. It was the first question I asked once I knew what they were. They seemed really even tempered and well behaved.

I read about the breed on U.S. forums. I very much like the sound of them - another breed to add to my wish list !
