Bracco Italiano - Alternative Breed StandardAlternative Breed Standard by Ros Roden
BRACCO ITALIANO
General Description: The Bracco Italiano is a hunting dog of Ancient Italian Origin who came over to this country ten years ago on a Thompsons Package Deal and decided to stay. He is characterised by his ability to melt your heart with a gaze whilst simultaneously removing anything edible from your pocket. In general he is more suited to a working environment though he does quite like the sofa.
Head : Noble dignified expression. Certainly too good for what is going on around him. Head planes must diverge, though nobody seems to know quite where.
Ears : Should be long enough to dangle in his dinner and water.
Mouth: Large enough to carry game and a sandwich at the same time.
Nose : Must be prominent with large nostrils to enable him to drink and blow water all over the Kitchen floor simultaneously.
Body: Well built and muscular enough to enable him to get through any door which is mistakenly (of course) closed against him.
Hindquarters: (In Particular Females) should be slightly saucy. Tuck up should be frowned upon as opposed to “Tuck in” which Bracci are exceptionally good at.
Feet: Very large, certainly large enough to attract your attention when placed on your foot.
Tail : Medium length, but long enough to swipe any low lying expensive ornaments off occasional furniture.
Gait/Movement : Long loping extended trot, nearly always in the opposite direction to that which you would like it to be. He has an amazing ability to change direction suddenly and thus defying any attempts to get him back on the lead.
Coat Colour: Depends entirely where he/she has been within the last 24 hours.
Size : Small enough to fit in your lap (in his opinion) but large enough to put off other dogs without actually getting involved in any unpleasant argy bargy.
Males: Males should have two normal testicles fully descended and should enjoy watching all sports, going to the pub with their (male) owners and lolling around the house looking bored.
Females : Should have a cheeky expression and expensive Italian tastes.
Faults : Any departure from the foregoing points should not be considered a fault, it is entirely understandable and will certainly not stop you loving your Bracco.

I had a go at the alternative Brittany Standard to the same template.
Brittany
General Description: The Brittany is the smallest of the pointing dogs and originates from Northern France; imported into this country in the late 80's in an attempt to bring French chic to the English countryside. The Brittany as a breed has made every effort to make as many friends as possible in the shortest possible time, this by its particular skill of always trying to be in the next county whenever out for a walk.
Head/eyes : Bright almond shaped eyes and intelligent expression mask a devious mind.
Ears : High set to enhance the look of interest and intelligence are in most cases purely decorative in nature. It might be considered a Brittany suffers general hearing problems within the range of human speech; but this in not strictly true as a Brittany can hear the crackle of a cellophane wrapper at 100metres in a force nine gale.
Mouth: The Brittany has dry lips – this limits the number of feathers that stick to the gums. A Brittany can thus provide a complete service to the game shooter enabling it to present an almost oven ready bird.
Nose : Very keen sense of smell. Capable of indicating where something has been and therefore where the Brittany should investigate further. This sense becomes more enhanced the closer the end of a walk becomes.
Body: Well built and muscular, despite its size very few Brittanys ever tire out.
Hindquarters: Well rounded rump - Bum like a cook they say– who mentioned food? Well that is not much of an incentive to a Brittany when hunting is on the menu.
Feet: Feet like a cat or a hare – depending which end you look. These help a Brittany be that combination of lithe and fast.
Tail : What tail? New versions now sport a tail, which because of its action takes away some of the 'surprise' for the owner over what the dog is about to do next
Gait/Movement : The 'galop' is a peculiar gait of the Brittany that allows extended periods of travel to be undertaken. The 'gallop' is what you get when two Brittanys 'galop' together. When the 'gallop' is over the condition is known as 'lost'
Coat : Self cleaning. Dirt drops away in an manner inverse to the colour of the surroundings and in an amount directly related to the value of the surface the dog is sat on
Size : Small enough for several to sit on your lap at once.
Males: Males should have two normal testicles fully descended and these in a healthy dog should be displayed regularly by lying on the ground with all paws in the air.
Females : Should have a cheeky expression and a penchant for expensive shoes – which can make good eating..
Faults : Only having one in the house at a time

Hey Taz
This is brill!!! I had an original copy of this dating back to when I got my first Bracco. In a couple of house moves it has been lost and I've been hunting high and low for it so that I can put it on my website.
I just love the Brittany one too!!!!
