Hi Buddy, nice pics greyghost
cressy

I notice there is absolutely no mention of the subtle buttering up of husband done by both you and Buddy all evening Les? Laughing

Did I bring the rain home with me - you garden looks spookily sunny now!
Greyghost

We've had some showers but they have been in the garden quite a bit.  Buddy has found the little hole at the back where a cat crawls through and is very interested.  Need to find a big rock and block it up hmmm.

As for Alister, he's a push over Laughing  Laughing

It was great seeing you Sue and thanks for all your help re owning more than one dog.  I have a lot to learn. Rolling Eyes

I was on the lookout for one anyway.  My husband didn't know it though.  This one just turned up on my doorstep.  I am a great believer in fate. Very Happy

So am I!  Lucky Buddy, I say!

Love this pic

Actually after last night I think I have got a pup with teenage hormones.  He was not happy in the crate last night although the first night was fine. Rolling Eyes

I put the vet bed by my bed and he peed on it Shocked .   I'm having to watch him all the time as he cocks his leg in the house 4 in my bedroom so far to have moved the crate into the study which has a futon in and a laminate floor.  I've also put the tray in the bottom of the crate to waterproof it, as he had also peed on his vet bed sometime.

I did get about an hour here and there last night but am knackered now.  Reminds me of bringing a new baby home.  What have I let myself in for  Laughing  Laughing

Did he have a stressed previous home or do you think it is just the stress of a new home that is causing the pee-ing?

Having met Buddy I would think he is just feeling a tad more confident with Holly and is trying to make his mark ..... quite literally. Simple Solution or Four Paws Industrial Pet Cleaner have both worked here on the odd occasion anyone tries to mark in the house Twisted Evil .

He is a bright lad and does not seem a 'stressy' type although he will no doubt take a while to learn his new house rules.

Les - I think you, a long line, clicker and his food ration will probably be needing to hit those fields very soon. He is a fit boy and you will be better off getting out there with him ASAP. I am sorry I couldn't stay longer yesterday - even so I was late collecting Brice and Piper from kennels due to foul weather and a road closure Rolling Eyes . Have confidence that at the moment he is 'off-balance' and looking to you as the one thing that is with him all the time, while you need him to learn to be independant in the house you can use his desire to be with you when you are out. Toys, food and silly voices and I bet he will be keen to get out and about with you.

Working on it Sue but trouble is I am house bound.  Need to get to PAH for a line or wait for one to arrive if I order on line.

I've got a walky talky lead but not sure it is strong enough.

Anyway, my daughter is her at the moment so we are just off out over the fields.
BritAnnie

Great he has a good home and a good friend.
Greyghost

Just bumping this up for Jo who didn't realise I had taken on a new boy.

Buddy is coming on great guns.  Today he scented and flushed a pheasant and then miraculously sat, according to Alister who took him out today.

He is very keen on retrieving but likes to play keep away on his return with whatever.  There is one toy he will hold and bring to hand which I am encouraging with some clicker training.

We have got our first training session with Rory next Sunday  with our newly formed HPR Lincs group.  I'm in no rush to get him working perfectly.  We're just going to enjoy the ride.
