Yes im going with Trish and the GWP's and its very muddy already down there with rain forecast today and saturday apparently, sunday should be well and truly muddy definately a wellie day .
Lisa

I'll be there! Very Happy   We have our club Champ show at Newark on Saturday so I'll be staying over and then travelling up to Darlington Sunday morning.

I read in Dog World that they are taking necessary actions to make it a little more accessible due to the mud and wet.  I hope it's not as bad as Richmond was Sad  I won't have my husband with me to get me out!! On a good note I have my nice new Huntress wellies to wear!! Just hope not to get them too muddy!! Wink  Laughing

Edith (my friend in Springers who i travel with) keeps asking when we are leaving. We need to give 3 hours for driving, but i want to leave really early incase we get stuck in the carpark like Richmond.  I'v sugested we leave at 4am. I dont think it went down to well!!!!!!!

Wellies are still sitting in the dog room where i left the from Richmond. I think i may need to give them a wash before putting them backin the car for this wekend.

The showground is HORRENDOUS Shocked  Parts of it are flooded, others very boggy. The car parks are bad and some vans were stuck getting on this morning. Come Sunday it will be even worse & it's just started raining again Rolling Eyes
Claire

Glad I'm not going !  Good luck to those who are though  Very Happy

Your not that far from me. Im in Carluke. Ok, so im going to pick Edith up at 4.30am. Im always terrified i drive all that way (ok, its not realy that far) and miss my class. We have to put the springers in the cage and attempt to trolly them in. It was great fun at Richmond, and im really looking forward to trying it again this wekend NOT.

I'm leaving mine at 5.30am tomorrow to get to the club show then at least I will only be about 45mins from the show ground after staying at the Travel Lodge Sat night! Very Happy

Oh Sad I'm not looking forward to going on my own and getting stuck Sad  Pete has bought me his mate's 4x4 pick up but it wasn't ready to take this weekend Crying or Very sad

Pam, how long did it take you to drive down to Richmond just out of interest?
Benboee

it took us over 6 hours to get to the B&B at Richmond which was 7 miles from the showground. We left the B&B at 7.30 and didnt get into the car park at the show till 9.30am. We had been pre-warned by people who had been at the show the day before who had left the B&B late and missed their class.

We must be mad driving all that way but it was well worth and i would do it again tomorrow (or Sunday as i am!) lol

My poor wee car doesnt know whats hit it recently
Lisa

Gosh! that is a long way!! Shocked  But like you said, it was worth it!!  It's just nice to show my husband that I'm not the only mad person in the dog world!! Wink  Laughing

I was told on Monday that the road in the middle of Newby was under standing water which is why I was "amazed" at the comment on Higham's website as I really couldn't see how they were so confident of not having further problems.

Like Claire has said - it's been raining there and more rain is planned so yet another yucky day with the van being towed off.   I wonder what both Losely and Newby's landowners are going to think with regards to next year.....
newbie

Have just heard from one of the stewards there today that the ground is very boggy making it difficult to walk let alone move dogs she says its as bad if not worse than Richmond was she also doesnt think it will get cancelled as it would be too much of a financial loss.
Bareve

Yes I just spoken to one of the judges and he said it is much worse than Richmond.....   Cars were being parked wherever they could get parked, lots of vehicles have just been abandoned where they got stuck, huge water filled ruts where the tenting contractors have churned up the ground and the walkways are sinking in the mud.

Apparently they are going to have a discussion tonight but I somehow doubt it will be cancelled but it is going to be hell on Sunday as it is still raining and more rain forecast  Crying or Very sad  Crying or Very sad

Glad I'm not going - first time I've not entered for years Very Happy    It's almost a "local show" for us Shocked
