dog coats

I have noticed himself now constantly has a small scab on his sternum - caused by pushing through undergrowth / over fences etc.
i have seen somewhere an illustration of a dog in a hi viz 'chest jacket' it covered the chest and a bit of the back, I can see this would be a really good bit of kit for a short legged dog to wear when going through rank heather.

Anyone any knowledge of a source for these?

Countrymun used to do the chest protectors but I can't find them on their website. Cabelas - http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en...pe=category&parentId=cat20656 which is the US shop do a couple of versions of them.

My boy is always getting snagged up as he also goes through undergrowth. I have a chest protector - had to send for it from US but saying that they were really helpful and it shipped in 3 days or something ridiculously quick. Here he is wearing it and I know he doesn't look happy in the picture - this was when I first put it on him to get him used to it!

Hi Guy, I had bother with working a male dog in heather too but it wasn't his sternum that needed protected Exclamation Shocked I used to cringe when I looked at his rear underbelly!

A friend of ours covers his HWV's 'bits' in Sudocream before he goes on the moor! I'm not sure which one enjoys it the most but he says it works.

Landlord - link worked when pasted into address bar - thanks - that is the one i was thinking of . Have found it on gundogsupply.

Not so worried about his bits - although he does get rosy balls after going through nettles - I can relate to that as when a boy at camp I recall tent raiding at night and suffering similarly on the retreat from our attempt at collapsing the neighbouring patrols accommodationl

got mine from http://www.dogsunlimited.com It was about $30 US Dollars and $5 shipping - It is a heavy duty, lined with kevlar! I chose this type over the wetsuit type as my boy gets very hot quickly and I think he would overheat in the wetsuit.
