Hi and welcome to the forum. What you get out of H.P.R. training depends almost entirely on what you put in . Much will depend upon the dogs you have and the natural abilities that they will need . Much will also depend upon how much land with a certain amount of game on it you have permission to go on and train/hunt your dogs on. Much also depends upon your determination to go out and do it rather than just talk about doing it.
Labs can have a good 70% of their training done along in the local park using dummies but HPR's need to be hunted where there is game around in order to learn to hunt and point.
Another alternative is to train for gundog tests - no game is involved in them - unless a caged pigeon or similar is used . Even that is not always present at H.P.R. tests.
Sorry , I don't know the trainers in your area.

Hi Gemma
Give us a better idea of where you are?
We run HPR's and have done training in various spots around manchester/Cheshire.

Are you meaning that you want to train them yourself or leave them with someone to train them for you?
The North West Group of the GSP Club run all their monthly HPR training classes around your area if you are wanting to do it yourself. http://www.s202817744.websitehome.co.uk/index.html
