GLP and a tiercelBuchse quartered a stubble field with a hedgerow on his left and started to indicate game. He pointed and Paul the falconer, released his young tiercel into the air. The bird gained height but was soon distracted by a pigeon and he stooped but missed his prey so then flew off in frustration. The young triercel was lured back which took about 15 minutes while Buchse remained in position throughout. The dog then roaded forward when the bird had gained height but the bird ignored the dog and circled behind him. Paul told me to command Buchse to flush and a covey of partridge lifted twenty yards from the end of his nose. The tiercel spotted the birds, stooped but missed as they were too far forward. This is what the falconer wanted to teach the young bird to follow the dog. Buchse must have pleased my falconing friend as he was offered the entrails of the chick which Paul was feeding to the bird as a reward for his good work!

Super DogWhat a good dog, Busche is. To stay in position all that time whilst waiting to get the falcon back. I'm sure mine would have flushed the birds by then.
It's brilliant to watch good dogwork.
