Hi Willowherb and welcome.

Munstyman, just what age are you? Peter Moxon for gods sake! Laughing Most of the gundog trainers now weren't even born when he wrote for the Shooting Times! I had a chat with him at Scotlands first ever big game fair. I was doing a demo with a lab and he was there answering questions on spaniels. Good God - am I THAT old Exclamation Laughing

Hi Willowherb and welcome to the forum from me and my nearly 7 year old Weimaraner bitch Holly (renamed as she was born on Xmas day). We have had her for almost two years now.

Got any pics of your pup?
Helen S

Oh yes! We love pictures of puppies, especially ones with whiskers!!

Welcome to the board Willowherb. This is definitely the place to come for help and advice, or just to have fun. How old is your gwp? Would love to see a pic. I have 2, a 7 year old and a 2 year old.

Bill, yes you are that old :-p lol

Helen

She is currently 9 weeks old. My girlfriend is hoping to do lots of hard work along with a trainer, and get her entered into some field trialling.
This is our first GWP, any pointers Helen?
Greyghost

Oh sweet ickle pupster. Nice of Pip to share the end of the blanket from the bed with her Laughing
WillowHerb

I know. There is actually a lab in there somewhere aswell!!
Helen

You must have posted the pic the same time I posted. She's gorgeous.

Yes, we've got 3! lol, sorry, we also have "english" pointers as well. I'll get me coat! lol

Sounds like you've got the bases covered if your girlfriend has organised a trainer. You just need to start as you mean to go on. Don't rush, and be fair and firm.

Where did you get her from?

Helen

Lovely puppy and this is certainly a very good forum for lots of advice.

Being curious where did you get her from and is her breeder going to be able to help too? Also which trainer are you "booked" with as hopefully they will have some HPR knowledge Smile
WillowHerb

We bought her from Lincolnshire. Her Grandfather is Bryantscroft Sorrel out of FTCH Bryantscroft Allspice. Weve already arranged some training with Rory Major. Our guess was that he was one of the trainers to go and see. If shes anything like our weimaraner, were gonna have our hands full for a while!!!
Bareve

Spot on Very Happy

Rory's lines are most certainly excellent workers and have lovely temperaments plus he is, in my opinion, the best HPR trainer out there as he has had a lot of experience with different breeds and has actually gone out there and made up FT Ch and he is very kind with both handlers and dogs when training Wink

He certainly was going to be the trainer I would have suggested that you contacted - good luck and keep us posted with your progress.
Claire

Welcome from me too and my 3 weimars. Are you not going to train your weim to work as well? Or perhaps you already have Embarassed

Wonder what it is about weimar owners wanting GWPs as well Laughing
WillowHerb

Hi there Claire,

The weimaraner is almost there with the training, she is partial to the odd rabbit now and then.
We just love the beard on the GWP, and the challenges that lie ahead Smile
Barb

Hi and welcome to the forum from myself and wei' Lexi, rehomed by us at 8 months and now 3 1/2. I also love the Wires. One day perhaps Smile
münstermanager

Hi Willowherb and welcome to the Forum. A really lovely puppy; have I missed her name? Great to see Pip sharing the blanket. Good luck with her.
