hello from GWP owner in cheshire

Just want to say Hi to everyone,  we are in warrington cheshire,
Fred is my boy  he is a 2.5 yr old GWP,  very funny, makes me laugh all the time,  especially when he gets that mad look that says  " NO  Im NOT doing it "  and then charges around in circles  laughing

We are part trained in the gundog world   so always interested in the training section  to see how we can benefit from the discussions going on

hope to be chatting to every one soon

Which training class is that Jan?
johnhod

Moss is being Moss.  B!**$y inconsistent.  One day doesn't put a foot wrong, next doesn't seem to know which way is up.

Not sure yet John, Rossi is now at that inbetweeny stage where shes done with the puppy classes, but not quite ready to move up with you lot in the HPR class.

Been doing a few 1-2-1's and also daily training, another couple of months maybe before we are steady and ready to join the "grown ups".

Am chuffed to bits with her progress to date, just a couple of minors which need tightening up and working on.

Am going down to Bryn to watch the AV Spaniels training day tomorrow (Friday), should be interesting to see how they have come on.

I think the GWP is only 7months old and much smaller than Fred, i've not been since he joined.

Theres a 14 month old Spinone joining next week.

Have you seen Luca the 17 month old Bracco yet? Whats he like? Any good? NIck recons he's quite switched on.
goffy

i met Luca   the once     He was switched on   he retrived lovely and when he wasn't sure,  he would look around for help  and go in the direction indicated,  small problem of delivering to hand  which he was hoping to sort and nick gave him some pointers   Pardon the pun

Have you thought yet about coming along to GSP HPR days  there are all ages and stages of dogs
jan
Helen

Welcome to the board.  I have 2 of the hairy beasties.

Ben, are you having a funny turn? lol

Did you get to Bryn Taz?  What did you think of it?
taz

Hiya John,

Yes had a great day at Bryn with the young Spaniels, (I took loads of pics which are on the WLG website), as is a report by Nick.

It is a lovely neck of the woods, I also went down in November, but only for the day, hopefully by the time the next trip is arranged, Rossi will be of a suitable standard to take along as well.
johnhod

If we get enough HPRs coming along to the training we may get a day (week-end) just for them
taz

Yeah, lets hope so John, I am always ribbing Nick that its too Spaniel oriented !!
johnhod

Believe we'd need our own guns.  Barn doors and the hitting thereof was mentioned after last week's outing
taz

ha ha, you forgot to add "from inside the barn".  Embarassed  Laughing

Not sure what was going on with the guns last week, plenty of flushes though which was a major objective, to prove steadyness in the young dogs.
goffy

I heard they had a brilliant  looong day, and that Big retrieved a runner Cool
Jon are you entering  Moss in the WLG challenge?

jan
johnhod

Yes, Jan.  Just to give him a run out more than anything.  I don't expect him to do anything.  Are putting Fred in for it?
goffy

yes we are entering,  give the spectators something to smile about.
Taz  its a shame Rossi  isn't old enough,   mind you with saffy about  all the dummies will be collected anyway in record time Razz
just as well big   is a bit young too  Very Happy

see ya both sunday    I am sure Rossi is capable of joining us don't you jon  ?

jan
johnhod

Can't see why not.  After all it's not as if the class is packed is it?
taz

Hiya you two, been offline for a few days due to a knackerd modem and poor service from Virgin  Sad

Gonna have to miss the class again this week, Rossi has been limping for the past couple of days, she twisted her front l/h leg and is being quite ginger on it so am restricting her excercise whilst she recovers. I may come over just to watch you advanced peeps strut your stuff tho.

Big and Flynn have both come on great in the past few weeks and are working very well, shame the season has just finished.
