Hello

Hi,

My name is Pamela & I own 1 Large Munsterlander called Elvis (Qualitil Unforgetable). I am a 1st time munster owner & I am forever learning new things about these amazing dogs.
Elvis as my 1st ever munster has been challenging to say the least but I am happy to say that thanks to the help of many experienced & friendly Munster people I am finally starting to really enjoy my boy.
Elvis is shown lightly & we are doing quite well in the showring.
I don't work him but I do take part in the Nat App in Kelso every year & always enjoy seeing Elvis hunting when we are out walking.
I think if (or should I say when) I am in a position to get a 2nd LM I will be more interested in learnign the working side.

Hi Pam

We just did the NAT down in Stoke Bardolph a week or two ago. And I think there are a few people on here doing the one in Kelso this year, so maybe you will meet some of them there!

Welcome to the forum...
MunsterElvis

Hi,

Thanks for welcoming me to the board, Sue & Josie. I am a really novice dog owner, but am very keen to learn. Very Happy

I think getting a Munster as a 1st dog was probably not the wisest move, but I wouldn't be without Elvis now. But Boy, they can be hard work!!!

The Nat App at Kelso is always a really good day out, especially if the weather is good. It's a really useful day too as the judges are always really friendly & helpful. Needless to say Elvis has never actually passed, but I would more put that down to bad handling than lack of ability!!!!LOL Laughing

Welcome to the board Pam! Are you going to the HPR Club of Scotland on Saturday? I'm going to be there with my 18 month old gwp. I'm also hoping to do the NAT in Kelso. (Not to self - remember to print off form!)

Helen
MunsterElvis

Hi Helen,

Yes I'll be at HPR on Saturday, I like to go to as many scottish open shows as possible so we don't lose the classes. What's your pups name? I'll need to look out for you, when are you on? We are on after GLP's in ring 2. It's nice it doesn't start til 11am, won't be too early a start for me (I live about 1.5hrs away from show).

I will also need to remember to print off the form for the Nat App, thanks for that reminder Very Happy

Hi Pam and Elvis. Welcome to the forum. Say hello at the HPR Show - I'll be the harrassed looking one in charge of the door and catalogues!
MunsterElvis

Hi Liz,

That's excellant, I will say definitely say Hello when I collect my catalogue (which hopefully I remembered to pre-pay for!!!) Laughing

HPR Show

Anyone else going to the HPR show - I'll be the frazzled silver surfer being towed along by three Brittanys, orange/white, black/white and a mahogany coloured thing Laughing . If you can drag me to a halt long enough please say hello to me too Wink
Annie
windem bang

I'll be there Anne, I'll be the guy wandering about, looking sadly at the dogs and making "tut - tut!!" noises !

W.B. --- One tut and yer oot !!!
Claire

I will be there too ! So those that don't know me please come and find me. I'll be there at the start as I like to watch the judging. I'll have my 18mth weimaraner bitch with me, you won't miss us cos she will be meeting and greeting everyone very enthusiastically Rolling Eyes I'll be wearing beige moleskins and brown top and probably a waistcoat.

Hey WB, are you showing or just coming to spectate Wink
windem bang

Hi Claire,

I will probably only be there a short time, my g.s.p. pup, now just turned 4 months old, will be with me but will have to be left in the car. I am hoping to go on from there to do a little early sheep aversion training with him or I wouldn't take him at all. I have only stepped inside a breed ring once Claire , just enough to be able to say, "Seen it , been it,done it and won the ticket!" There were only two dogs in the ring, my bitch and her litter sister. The judge could have tossed a coin for the winner. I did win but got no thrill from it.

I was talking to Tom yesterday, (my pups sire is his dog Lewis) he said to say he was asking for you.

See you at the show if a lynch mob doesn't get to me first!!

Good luck !

W.B. --- One toot and yer oot !!!
Claire

Spooky, I just spoke to Tom tonight ! He sounded tired. Going out to see him next Thursday.

Look forward to seeing you on Saturday then. My weim is very friendly if your GSP needs a friendly dog to socialise with. Wish I had got her used to sheep at an early age. I am so stupid. Thought I had covered everything and forgot about the damn sheep Rolling Eyes Lewis is a cracker. First time I went out to see Tom he showed me Lewis and Roma working and told me thats what I'm aiming for Shocked Laughing
windem bang

Hi Claire, My pup is always pleased to socialize but he thinks that means hanging onto the other dogs ears ! Up to now the other dogs he's met have all been too well mannered to marmalize him for it!

He isn't entered for the show and probably never will be in a showring but I'll be very pleased to let you see him outside if that proves possible. (I don't know how safe the car park is for dogs, I've never been their before.)

Looking forward to meeting you and all the others.

W.B. --- One toot and yer oot !!!
guy

how will they know you are the 'real Windem Bang' ?? Perhaps a button badge that says 'toot'
BritAnnie

The baldie heid and the withering look when eyeing up all these beautiful but stupid show dogs will give him away Wink

But I'm going to spill the beans any day now!!!!! Twisted Evil
windem bang

I don't have a baldy heid, I am simply follicly challenged!! See you there if you manage all the way down from " hoochter, choochter land !"

W.B.--- One toot and yer oot!!!
windem bang

P.S. - And who said they were bootifull ?
BritAnnie

Should be OK - hoping to go to see screaming new grand-daughter (and rest of family) on Friday in Stirling, and staying overnight, so only an hour and three quarters from there on Sat morning. Will probably have to stop and sleep for an hour half way back up to heuchter teuchter land - can't do four and a quarter hours on the trot after a day being pulled around by these brats. After all they aren't gundogs, they're show dogs - AREN'T THEY Question Rolling Eyes Wink Twisted Evil Laughing Cool Sad Surprised

Not due on till about 12 so don't rush away too soon, WB. I want to see this non show working dog.
MunsterElvis

Hi Guys,

Really looking forward to tomorrow's show, especially now I have all of you to look out for. If I do pass by you without saying hello I'm probabaly just being my usual blonde self!!!LOL Laughing Plus I have a tendancy before entering the show ring to get too focused on my dog & not notice anything going on around me. After judging though I like to wander around the other breeds to see what's happening.

Good Luck to everyone going, hope you all do well. Very Happy Very Happy

Teal's name is Rhimad Ainnir and I have no idea what time we are on. I am never organised when it comes to showing and I'm not sure where I put my schedule so if anyone knows when the gwp's are on, I would be very grateful lol.

Teal has just finished a season so will probably be a grumpy trollop. lol

Helen
MunsterElvis

Hi Helen,

GWPs are in ring 2, after GLPs but before us (LMs), so we will definitely see you ringside. Judging starts at 11am. Hope that helps??

That's a lovely name, Teal. Where does it come from?

Helen

Rob, OH, thought of it as he's into his wildfowling. Teal is a duck.

CONGRATULATIONS to Pam & Elvis for taking the BOB @ HPR on Saturday.

Hope everyone else who went enjoyed their day too.

Well done Pam & Elvis

MunsterElvis

Thanks Sue Very Happy Very Happy

We had a great day.

Erin Logie was handling Kai (Raycris Falcins Legacy) for the 1st time in the junior handling & won that so it was a good day all round!!!!

The dogs got a nice big walk in peebles after it too, so they had a fab time getting nice & muddy!!!LOL

Pam & Elvis
münstermanager

It's really great news that Erin won with Kai in Junior Handling and, particularly, after recent events.

I think I saw that muddy photo - just as well it was an after and not before Laughing Laughing

Sue
MunsterElvis

I know, I was really pleased for her. After everything that has happened she needed to get out there & prove to herself she could handle another dog & Boy did she do it with Style. Kai can be a bit of a handful but he seemed really in tune with Erin.

LOL, can you imagine a ring full of Muddy Munsters!!! Don't think that would be too well received Laughing Laughing

Pam & Elvis
münstermanager

Kai is a really nice dog. I have heard about his energy Smile It was certainly good to handle him in such style right now. I do remember seeing Erin handle Hogan @ Crufts a few years ago. She & young James do the breed proud, that's for sure.

Yes, I can imagine a ring full of muddy Münsters Cool. Perhaps it's one to save for April 1st under someone with a Münster Idea - just a few not actually entered in the Show, of course Shocked. But it's probably not a good idea..... I did hear that last year's Crufts Judge, allegedly, said that the Münsters were too clean... but then I've heard of some being too much the other way at times. Beecham is very fond of the hedgerow look Rolling Eyes . He doesn't really do mud on his face as he wipes that all over me Smile. I guess it gives us a 'team' look! Wink

Sue
MunsterElvis

I think it would be quite funny to have a fun class for most unkempt LM, I think the competition for that could be tighter than in Open!!!!LOL Shocked

"Team Beecham" sounds like a great plan, they really are smart aren't they?! Elvis does that wipe his face on you thing too. Usually after having had a huge drink of water he wants to come & rest his head on your lap. I often end up looking like I've had a wee accident!!!! Laughing
