Hello

Hi everyone.

I currently have 2 weimaraner bitches, 1 is 3 years old and a 16 week old pup. 2 gsp's, a 4 year old dog  and a 10 month old pup, and a border terrier.
We also have 2 german shepards as well.

I have had wei's since 1992 but haven't shown them for a while, I am looking forward to getting back in the ring with my young pup. It is very odd as she has a tail and I still can't get to grips with how you hold it when showing!

Looking forward to getting to know you all and getting some tips re gundog work.

Hi Sue!

Sounds like you have your hands full!!  I show my younger weim aswell as training him for working tests at the moment!

Whereabouts are you?  Will probably see you around the ring at somepoint then! Wink

Hi, I am in South Staffs.

It is convienient for showing but not for gundog training or gwt's, I entered the GSPC test this weekend at Ashdown Forest, it was a 3hr drive each way and coming home was a nightmare.

I have looked at the locations for all the gwt's this summer and most of them are a 3 hr drive down south.

My pup's 1st show will be at South Wales on 5th July.

I have the same problem but the other way round! Laughing

Will see you at South Wales then!  Very Happy

Welcome to the board Smile   If you think a 3 hour drive is bad to get to some of the tests down there then think yourself lucky you do not live in Scotland . You could add on another 4 to 5 hours !

Hi, I have an 11 year old daughter who has to come with me, she must be the most well-travelled girl in the country!

She is the one that puts restraints on my travelling, believe me, 3hrs there, then hanging around at a test or show, then the journey back does not put her in a good mood!
Twisted Evil
She loves our dogs to pieces but isn't interested in showing or working them at all. She is a club swimmer and looks at everything in 'pool time'

My husband is Scottish, he does working trials with the gsd's, another contention as he doesn't get hunting, he thinks it is too imprecise....until he had ago the other week at training and gave up after admiting it was really hard and he didn't understand the variables!

He wants to retire to Scotland in a couple of years and I have said ok on the condition he buys me a motorhome so I can travel in comfort. Very Happy

How funny Sue! I have my two daughter's that travel round with me!  Laughing  One is 12 and the other is 7.  Must admit it makes it a bit easier for me at shows as they do Junior Handling!  As for the tests, well, thats the day they should stay at home with their dad! Rolling Eyes but they still insist on coming with me!  Never get a moments peace Rolling Eyes  Laughing

Hi,

Thank you all for being so welcoming.  Very Happy

I look forward to sharing my ups and downs with my puppies with you,  I thought my young gsp was a bit off colour at the beginning of the week at the GWT run by the GSPC at Ashdown Forest, she has come into season today aged 9 months. I have never had a bitch come into season so early.  Crying or Very sad

I will be showing my weimaraner puppy at her first champ show at South Wales.
I will be doing GWT's at the HVC, Worcester and Coventry Gundog club too.

Lisa please introduce yourself at the next champ show so our kids can meet!!   Wink

Teal, my gwp, came into season at 9 months as well.  Quite a shock for me as I have never had a bitch come in so soon.  OTOH, my setter took until she was 2 years old!!
