Hi thereHi Everyone.
I hope this works ok. I am new to this forum and just wanted to introduce myself. My name is Jackie and between my partner and I we have 2 GWPs (one is a 2 year old bitch who I hope to field trial and one is a rescue dog aged between 2 and 3), a lab (aged 3) and a cocker (aged 3).
I have been stalking this forum for a couple of months after being told about it by a nice chap at a spring pointing test in Whitfield (who I think may be Mike).
I am besotted with GWPs. They never fail to make me laugh even when they are sticking two fingers up at me (which my bitch does frequently).
Anyway, just wanted to say hi.

Welcome to the board. I've got two gwp's. I've only been in the breed for 6 years but have fallen head over heels about them and can't see myself living without one for a very long time.

I know exactly what you mean about GWPs making you laugh. Mine is 19 months and just starting to take a bit more notice of me now. Mind you I am a first time gundog trainer so she is probably right as many times as me!!

Thanks everyone. I am looking forward to hearing about everyone elses experiences.
Just trying to decide whether I am going to brave the Scottish Game fair tomorrow given the rainy forecast. I think I'll probably give it a go.

We went yesterday and had a great time. Gorgeous sunshine and really warm! I think we had a brief shower which only lasted 30 seconds. We certainly picked the right day!
