Mid Western Gundog

There is someone on here who has a very big brag from today at the Mid Western Gundog............

Sure wished I'd had a camera earlier to catch his expression Laughing

Big congratulations from the group of HPR gundog people who sat in the corner  Very Happy
guy

Thanks for blowing my cover, I was going to try and keep quiet about it Smile .  As you noticed I was a little surprised at the decision - after all Brittanys rarely get very far in group and to be under a Brittany expert only made it harder to get anywhere as the word 'favoritism' could be used.

The end of a perfect month - Topaz's CoM at the beginning and now Catja with BP and RBPIS yesterday.

Back to earth today (just) and off to run some pointing ground this morning and retrieve training this afternoon - is there much more one could ask of life.

I would like to take this opportunity of saying a 'big thank you' to the forum and its members - in many ways these wins are as much to their credit as mine or the dogs - after all it is the support, help, guidance, reassurance and friendship that has been offered by pm, email, publicly and in the field that i feel has sometimes willed us on to achieve.  So my thanks to you all - please share in this win wherever you are in the world.

Well done Guy!  How did you do?

Young?  Guy?  Don't think so! Laughing  - in mind perhaps  Laughing Not long till the bus pass comes in, eh, Guy? Wink
BritAnnie

I see it was Maureen Nixon judging the breed - a working lady, and Ron James doing the Group.  You'll probably get a crit from MAureen but don't expect one from Dr James.

I thought all Brit owners were young Cool  Its the dogs that age them quicker Wink  Laughing  Laughing  Laughing

Ryan Gregor judged breed with Cathy Gorman judging group. So doubly pleased as Ryan will be able to say he spotted her first and Cathy for the endorsement she has given by such a placing; Cathy is a Britttany Breed specialist and would have had to be more than doubly sure the dog deserved the place.

Well done Guy ! Very Happy

Munstyman ,you are correct, it is the dogs that inflict nasty aging effects on the brittany folk, I'm really only 22 ! Laughing

Sorry Guy I couldn't resist bragging for you as when you consider who the judge was (Kathy) then it must be even more satisfying that her qualities have been appreciated in the correct manner.   Considering she is still a puppy and hasn't been with you all along she is a credit to her breeder (and wherever she did her pet passport) and to yourselves as she didn't look fazed at all.

Well done  Very Happy

Thanks Lynn

Good luck with Dixie tomorrow  Very Happy

Had another fab day today with Taylor - little slow to start with until we hit some game and then boy was it a different matter!!!!   Steady to hare which got up between me and him giving him such a temptation to break his sit.  Then two points in the stubble - one on a woodcock and a second one where another woodcock and a brace of partridge lifted - fab  Very Happy  Very Happy

Catch up soon

I am quite happy to drive five hours for a 'field' event, but i do passionately believe in the dual nature of the breed - but only likely to drive three hours for a 'show'.
Ghilliegumdrop

You should see him on the move Mike, his angulation and chest developement are superb not to mention the arm muscles Exclamation  Exclamation  Not sure about the teeth though...and the coat is a little thin with no undercoat but that movement....just you put a bottle near him and watch him run Twisted Evil  Twisted Evil  Twisted Evil

you are nearly right - but you forgot to say he has poor recall and also tends to run in (where angels fear to tread)

Many congratulations Guy, Topaz and Catja.  Catja is obviously a star in the making to handle all that at her age and in such a short time with you.
