Mugi has an inviteI have been trying to see if I could attend a shoot to get an idea of what it is all about. I have been told there is a shoot locally and I will be allowed to go along, not on my own but Mugi can go too.
So come september Mugi and I will be going beating on a partridge shoot, we can do a half day (or less if he finds it too hard), it is pretty local so the ground should be ok for him and his level of control is good so I can't forsee him embarrassing me too much, it will probably be the other way round . He is fine being shot over with a shotgun and a starting pistol so noise should be no worry for him.
I will be interested to see how we get on.

Just had a thought Sue, if the beaters use flags to flush the game , make sure Mugi is accustomed to this before you go.

Excellent! I'm sure you will both enjoy it. I love partridge beating, but it is a lot harder than pheasant beating.
Good thinking of Bill. I took Pippa (springer) grouse beating and hadn't got her used to a flag. She spent the whole time walking to heel as she was terrified of the flat - it didn't help that I whalloped her on the head at the start :-s
