New Champion Weimaraner - PAGANWell done to Claire Rodgers (weima) and Pagan who won the crowning 3rd CC at GBAS today under breed specialist Pauline Brooks - she also went onto win best of breed. This result makes Pagan a FULL CHAMPION and I for one congratulate them both.
Well done Claire from all of us north of the border , we are SO CHUFFED for you.

Well done, Claire and Pagan
I was there too - saw you from across the hall.
Don't know where you went after that cup of coffee, Bill - thought you might come back to Ring 1 - 15 minutes at a dog show too much for you?

I was over the moon to get Claire's text and only sorry I wasn't there to see it.
Many many congratulations. This win has been long overdue and I'm delighted for you

Pagan looked lovely (as usual) and looked equally good in the BIS comp but sadly got nowhere.
Many congratulations Claire, I tried to get to see you but you were always surrounded when I got close and with Mugi I didn't want to bustle him in.

Hi Claire, well done again! I go to an occasional show to give the showies the chance to tell me what a working dog should look like
More seriously, I did enjoy the show, I got there about 9.30 a.m. and left about 5 hours later. I'm sorry I didn't meet you Claire, I met, I think it was about 8 or 9 other forum members and had a blether with most of them, sorry I didn't get a chance to bore you too

Well done Claire! It's great to hear about a dual purpose gundog doing well. There aren't that many.
I can't believe I missed you all! I was there with my lot. Little Pepsi got a 2nd place, I'm so proud of her! (she was 6 months old on the 1st November!) Her mum got a 2nd place, too. My boy won the Limit class and got RBD, beaten by his half brother.
So who's going to HPR club of Scotland then? Might see some of you there.

well done Claire - I'm glad I stop by the ring at that time so I could watch you win the CC
what a clever Pagan. What did Ian say when you got home and told him?

Well done, to make up a full champion in such a numerically strong breed is a fantastic achievment !
Was out with another Weim Ch on Saturday, I remembered this dog from last season when he did a fantastic blind on a woodcock, to me another cracking example of what HPR's are all about!

He was really pleased although I did phone him from the show to let him know so after he had finished shooting he had a celebration & was a bit worse for wear by the time we got home
It is only just beginning to sink in to be honest & I fell honoured to have owned not just 1 full champion but 2 now in a breed that is numerically strong in the show ring but not so in the shooting field.
woo hoo

Linda, normally I enter HPR Club of Scotland and I would have definitely liked to have gone under the judge this time round but unfortunately this show is on a Saturday and it clashes with a shoot day which has to take priority

Who is the judge out of interest ??

Claire

Christine Macdonald of the Northey affix, she's a working person.

Claire, I understand about the shooting, it has to come first at this time of year. I just wish I knew what I was doing with my lot! Retrieve has taken a huge step backwards - it has become a game. You know the one, I've got it, catch me if you can .....!!
I wouldn't have minded going under Christine McDonald again, she gave my boy BD last year at GBAS, but she's not doing us at HPR, we've got Karl O'Connor judging us, Italian Spinone, GWP and Brittany. This will probably be Chance's last open show. I think he's getting a bit fed up waiting for his turn now that I have the 2 girls to show as well. Mind you, he has won BOB at HPR for the last 2 years, so fingers crossed for the 3rd time in a row!!!!!

I looked at the schedule for the HPR Club of Scotland show and saw Karl is judging and would have liked to go under him but it's a shoot day. I missed a shoot day because of GBAS because I really wanted to go under the judge and I don't want to miss another one. Why do they have it on a Saturday when the hpr group has the most dual purpose breeds?

I have been saying the same about the North of England HPR Club for years now. They also have their shows on a Saturday during the season

I'll ask them when I'm there! (If I remember!!!!!!!!) I've had a puppy owner complain about it too. The pup is learning the ropes (shooting ones...) but they would like to bring him along to a few shows before they start taking him out for a days shooting. Looks like Waverley Gundog might be ok though. It's on a Sunday.
