Pictures of your dog on point

Well so many of you have got stunning looking dogs that I would love to see some pictures of them on point! Very Happy

We've seen some before (and I certainly wouldn't mind seeing them again!) It would also be nice to see some of the variation between breeds.

So come on, dig through your photo album for your best pointing dog pic and post it below! Cool

Higgins,

Nice prictures. Is that really quicksand? If so, how did you get the dog out?

This is Danny, Ardoon Daniel pointing a pheasant. The irony is that he was actually my snipe dog. I shot 200 head of game over him one season including 125 snipe not one of which was lost. He was the only setter I owned that pointed dead. He would also retrieve, or rather tow ducks to the shore, with his lips peeled back so that they wouldn't touch the feathers. It was really quite handy as you could see his teeth shining in the dark.

I just thought I would show a picture of Tessa’s first point. She is 11 weeks old. We still have a lot of work ahead of us to turn her into an accomplished gundog, but seeing her first point sure was encouraging!

Vinnie

What a little star! That's a fantastic picture! I never seem to have my camera with me when Jet goes on point - at best I have my mobile phone but the photos never turn out that good Confused I shall have to make a concerted effort to take my camera out and about with me more! Rolling Eyes

I have a bit of a request, a friend of mine is going to start painting gundogs and wants some examples of dogs in a 'stubbs' sort of position if you have any that you think might be suitable please let me know. She is going to be doing some at a discounted rate so if you are looking for a 1st class artist (from all the best art schools in europe) please let me know and I will pm you her details.

This is a typical stubbs portrait
Prairie Hunter

Vinnie,

I know what you mean about not having a camera when you need one. But, these puppy moments, when the light first comes on, pass so quickly. I hope to be more prepared with this pup to capture some of them.

Ralph,

Great photo of the bird flushing in front of your dog. I like the way the dog remained steady.

Freckles pointing a rabbit - backfooted and front footed - she actually stopped like this and nearly fell over Laughing ! Didn't even have time to put the tongue back in Razz . Needless to say Bunny escaped due to quick thinking Mum being close enough to get the lead on while she was off guard, or rather off balance Wink

Yesteday I went to a friend's place to photograph a young black GSP from German lines (Hege Haus) that was in for training. While I was there, I figured I would get some additional shots of some other dogs that showed up to train...as well as one or two of my own.

Breeds include: 3 GSP's (1 black one and 2 brown and white ones), a Pudelpointer, a Pont Audemer Spaniel (my wife's dogd) and a Weimaraner (my bitch "Souris").

Enjoy!

Great pics as ever Craig, the mainly white GSP is in awesome condition!
chiendog

Hi All,

I've added a few shots to the gallery from another training session today.

www.craigkoshykphoto.ca/training_day.html

You may need to refresh your browser or clean your cache to re-load the gallery but you will see some new shots at the end. Note shots 30-34, they are of my two bitches in a steady-to-wing session. I popped the bird from a launcher and they watched it fly away....good girls!!

Enjoy.
