Please say hiHi all, I work and trial Hungarian Vizslas, and have been involved with the breed for nearly 10 years. I'm fortunate to have good contacts (ex Keeper) and good open ground to use for training purposes. I 'pay' for the use of the ground with vermin control and by helping on shoot days as I've good contacts with other HPR owners so we're able to assist with the beating and picking up. I carry out vermin control with guns, rifles, traps and terrier work with my Cousin and his dogs.
One of the shoots allows me to let the HPR clubs put on Field Trials, Spring Pointing Tests et cetera. It's quite vast ground with large fields so it's really well suited for 'running' HPRs. The ground supports a good population of Wild Grey Partridges and the keeper releases hundreds of Red Legs and Pheasants for let-days . He also releases 100 reared Greys well away from the wild ones which really helps with the trials as Greys are far better for our 'pointing' dogs; they tend to sit tight and not run like the red legs.

i am new to hpr's and am possibly getting a gwhp or hwhv, just looking for tips and probably just going to watch and learn for now.
