rabbit skin dummiesI have been wondering how those of you who were trying various ways of curing rabbit skins for use as dummy covers or for stuffing as retrieve articles have got on. Success or not ?

Mine were very successful Bill using your crystals. Covered one normal dummy and one small (after Grouse had reduced the size of my second skin!). Both have tails. When I was sewing one of them up my grandson asked me "are you killing it?" He's only three but tells the dogs "back & fetch" when he's thrown something and "dead" when he wants to take something - even from his mother! She thinks I'm a bad influence.

I'm pleased the crystals worked well for you, I have used them since I was (Ithink!) about 14 years old. I used to shoot grey squirrels with an air rifle, skin them, cure them with the crystals then sell them to schoolgirls at my school and others. There was a fashion fad back then for these skins attached to wickerwork baskets the girls carried to school in stead of the usual schoolbags. I made a small fortune at 2 shillings a skin! I didn't get much more than that for pocket money for an entire week! Two shillings bought quite a lot then !!!
Two shillings is 10p for those of you lucky enough not to remember that far back
