SKC

Who is going?

Helen
newbie

I am and so is Trish  Smile
Kerry
Claire

Yup, I'll be there.
BritAnnie

I was down for stewarding as we don't have breed classes but have had to call off as Belle's pups are due 19th or so.
Good luck to anyone who is going.
BA
Benboee

I'll be there. Im hoping (fingeres crossed) to pick up JW points. Almost there but not quite. I have 5 points to go. I still have quite a few shows to get the points at, but i want them NOW.
lol

Pam
Linda W

I'll be there. I get Chance's eyes done at SKC so I'd be daft to miss it, wouldn't I?  Wink

Good luck with the JW points Pam, and good luck with the babies Annie  Very Happy
Helen

I will be going but Teal won't cos she's in season!!  Pain in the whatsit.  Rob took her to clear up around the buts after a shoot day on Friday and said that the other keepers cockers were showing a lot of interest in her.  On the Saturday, I thought her bits looked big and today, they are big and she's in! Pain cos not only had I entered 2 shows with her, she was also going out with Rob on two shoot days next week!

Helen
Claire

Can you not bring her up regardless Helen?  At least at champ shows dogs and bitches are separate.
Helen

It would be too stressful Claire.  She will be pretty much on day 10 on Saturday so don't want to risk it.

We are still going as it's a weekend away (which we haven't had for a loong time together!).  We're also looking at a litter of bt pups on the way back lol

Helen
Benreeda

I am going.  Helen you are right not taking her.  Nothing worse than a bitch in season and trying to show a stud dog.   I wish more people were like you.  I won't show a bitch in season either.

Pat

Who knows when the GWP's are in the ring ? Im getting my lug nipped ! lol
Kerry
Benreeda

They are in after GSP and there are 70 of those so although no one can say I always count 2mins per dog and knock of time for absentees.  Dogs have to be in by 11.30 am   Work it out but I would be there before 11am.  This is just a guess.
Who is nipping your lug?
BritAnnie

I agree entirely, I won't show an 'in-season' bitch either.  My breed notes a couple of weeks ago highlighted the problem of trying to show a dog when you are second in the ring and there's been a bitch on heat in the previous breed, I think it's inconsiderate.
Sorry to miss SKC especially as it is now my nearest show of any kind, but with three babies here I'm not taking the risk.  I've apologised to Myra for not being able to steward, but maybe in May I can help.

Thanks for that Pat i like to be there by 11 at the latest normally im there for start of judging no matter when im in the ring who do you think was nipping my lug ? I did tell her i thought we were in after GSP's but thought i should just double check ,
thanks
Kerry  Very Happy
Benreeda

I see well I did tall her but will phone and tell her again.  Last time I did this for Dundee she didn't listen and arrived too late.  She was on time this year though.
She doesn't retain information.
newbie

We made Dundee by the skin of our teeth this year cus she slept in i had to ask the ring steward to hang on 5 mins thankfully for us she did ,shes a nightmare lol .
Benreeda

She was on the phone and i told her to be sure and get there before 11am  She then said she would be there in plenty time and long before that as she needs shopping.   Shocked   So why ask about times.  I am sure she is deranged or something.   Rolling Eyes

Think your probably right Pat lol hope its no catching  Wink
BritAnnie

I got slated on another forum for talking about someone without giving any names but everyone knew who it was adn joined in the discussion.  Watch what you say.

Its ok what i say on here i say to Trish's face its all a bit of a joke really especially around the ring

BritAnnie

Yes, I knew who it was as well - I actually quite like her 'nuttiness'  Just thought I'd better mention it, once bitten twice shy as they say.
BA
Benreeda

Almost everyone on here must know who it is.  once met never forgotten.  For anyone who doesn't she has wires and is called Trish.  Note Trish not Pat. LOL   Laughing
We tell her she is nutty but she is too nutty to bother.    Rolling Eyes

Well done everyone who went to SKC it was a good day well apart from when we all got evacuated from the building somebody was smoking in the disabled toilets  Evil or Very Mad .

Both Claire & I won the RCC Very Happy She with Whistle & me with Axel so a good day really.

Well done on the reserve tickets  Cool  I didn't do so well. Only 3rd in a class of 3  Wink The other 2 in the class got the ticket with BOB and the reserve ticket, so I don't feel too bad about it. Especially as a young male I bred (litter brother to my young Pepsi) won the Post Grad class  Very Happy  This was his first champ show and his 3rd show overall, so to win this class at only 15 1/2 months is great  Twisted Evil  I hope they keep it up. This dog was sold into a working home, which he is doing, and also to try obedience. So he is a multi purpose dog.

Merlin [the Demon from Hell] won his class and got a brilliant write-up from the judge....it's in this week's Dog World........boy that was quick Exclamation  Exclamation

Not at SKC I might add (this is the SKC thread, Jan, NOT the WKC one!)  We didn't have classes at SKC August - only May.
BritAnnie

Well done to Pat and Joyce with SH CH Benreeda Ghost Wighoules (Caspar) on winning his 4th CC AND BOB at SKC under Sharon.  Pure dead brilliant!
OK this is an HPR Forum but just wanted to say Donald's girlfriend's Mum won her 2nd CC with her home bred Cocker, Clifford (no, he's not BIG and not RED Laughing ) Joaldy Bachelor Boy.  We were on champagne and strawberries last night - strawbs in the bottom of the glass topped up with the champers, even better with a touch of brandy)

Very well done, chuffed for both of you, would have cheered you both had we been there - opted for a day with the grouse instead.
Bareve

Well done Claire - I hadn't realised you'd won the RCC when I saw you later in the day doing your official SKC bit and of course the "other" Claire Very Happy  Very Happy
Liz

Well done everyone - outside of the show ring our agility club qualified a team for Crufts as well.
Helen

Well done everyone. Sounds like the board had a good day!

I didn't get to SKC as we had a bit of a panic at Tracys when her border terrier decided to go rabbiting!  Was disappointed not to get there but we still had a good weekend as we went to see a litter of border terrier pups.  We've booked a nice little bitch who will be coming home in 4 weeks.

Claire

Well done to everyone and thanks for your congrats.  The day could have been spoilt by a certain group of people suffering from a bout of sour grapes  Rolling Eyes   Luckily for me there were also some very genuine congrats being given in my direction  Cool

Isn't it amazing how when you have a win you REALLY find out who your friends are  Laughing  And I have a VERY good memory  Twisted Evil

Sloping shoulders are useful, and chain mail on your back Wink
Helen

I just can't understand why people in the same breed, can't just be pleased when people do well.  We are all in it for the love of the breed, aren't we??  It's the one aspect of showing I really hate and I have to say, it does put me off somewhat as I can't be bothered with the whole school playground aspect of it.

I call those friends my "glory hunter friends" as they only acknowledge you when you win anything, very sad people !
