Thanks guys, she goes in at 8.30am and the op will be in the morning.  Will phone for an update at lunch time and hopefully pick her up at the end of the day.
josie

Well, on her lead walk this morning before we took her in, a seagull swooped down and pooped on her, big time Shocked  Is that good luck!?!  I think I'm more scared about all this than she is!!

Have you heard how she is Josie Question  Question
Lisa

Sorry! missed this!  I'd say the poop was a good sign!! Laughing  Wink

Hope she is ok.  If Slate is anything like Emmy was when we had her spayed, she milked it for ages after and she was perfectly fine Rolling Eyes  Very Happy

We called at 1pm to see how she was doing and they told us to come right in and get her.  (She made loads of noise as soon as she came round, apparently!!).

She is very unsteady and woozy but she doesn't want to be left alone either and is making sad whimpering noises.  I think she's a bit confused.  We have to take her back for a check up tomorrow afternoon.

She had a lump on her side taken off at the same time and that's being sent off for analysis.  (It's been there for ages and hasn't changed in size, but as she was going to be under GA anyway we figured it should come off.)

I feel so guilty about this, I keep apologising to her.  Sad
Greyghost

Great she is back home with you, best place for her.  She'll be fine with a bit of TLC, however, you might need to see a shrink Laughing  Laughing
Fiona and Otter

Glad to hear she is doing OK, believe me I'm sure you will feel worse than she does!
josie

Uh oh...  She is going to be bouncing off the walls after 10 days if she can recover this fast Shocked  Help!
Liz

Glad she's doing fine Very Happy

Our Sula milked it for the first couple of days - really playing the invalid - until she realised she wasn't going out for walks Shocked    On the third day she shot across the room like a bat out of hell and was waiting at the door for me Laughing
josie

Vet check today went fine.  Another check in 10 days' time for the all clear to run and jump.

Vet said that her uterus wasn't "quiescent", meaning it had been doing stuff.  Not that it was going to be a pyo - just that he could tell she'd had several seasons and false pregs.

Right, now we have Grey's hip scoring to deal with on Sunday Shocked Laughing
Helen

Pleased to hear it all went well.

Good luck on Sunday.

Helen

Grey's hip scoring went well - going by what was said, it should be a good score, so fingers crossed!

Slate had her 10 day check up today.  Vet is happy all is healing well and she can go off lead as long as she doesn't go bonkers and takes it easy for a week.  (YEah, right.)
Greyghost

Good news Jo Very Happy   As for taking it easy for a week - good luck Laughing
Lisa

Good to hear all is well! Very Happy

I know how you feel about not going off lead!  Emmy has had a lump removed from her back leg and has stitches in for two weeks Shocked She is driving me mad as I can't wear her out just lead walking!! Rolling Eyes

Hi Lisa,  this is where a bit of clicker training comes in handy.  It wears their little brains out because it makes them think.  Perhaps you can play some mind games with her at home. Very Happy   I sympathise btw I went through it twice with Abbie, once with her torsion and the second time with her spay.  She was under two for both of them Rolling Eyes.
josie

Is she not ok to go out after 2 wks?  It's 10 days since Slate's spay and she had stitches in 2 places - lump removal and spay.  She pootled around in the park today and we didn't get her to do anything at all, she just sniffed about.
Lisa

Yes Les, I used to do loads of clicker stuff with her before Blu came along!  Must dust my clicker off and give it a go!

Not sure if my vets are being a little over cautious about the stitches!  They said best not to have her free running until after the stitches come out Confused   Maybe because the wound is right on the edge of her back leg so theres lots of movement when she walks.

It doesn't seem to be bothering her in anyway so I might see how she goes and let her have a little run in a day or two.  She only had the lump off on Friday.
josie

It might be different because Slate had dissolvable stitches, not sure.  Best do what your vet advised.
