The Italian Bracco

Hi,

Could some one provide me with some persuasive and convincing arguments of why not to buy and own a Bracco?

Thanks
Lee

Hi Lee

afraid I will be of no use what so ever as I have a soft spot for them Very Happy

What are you thinking about doing with one btw

I had heard they aren't very clever but my friend Lyn Bowley of Elgin who breeds them disagrees.  As far as I can see from hers they are soft as putty, good housedogs if you want something big and lolloppy.  She's going to work hers and either has started or is thinking of attending the GSPC Highland Group.

First and foremost it will be a house pet. If I think I'm able enough then I'd like to get it working in some manner.

Hi Lee

I have a bracco and three spins, I can safely say they are the most wonderful breed certainly not stupid and have the most amazing scenting ability.... They do need to be kept occupied and stimulated but in return can be very entertaining....

Try Lynne's site for a bit of info & I'm sure she'd be happy to give advice.

I fail to see why you would want a Bracco when you could have  a Brittany Smile
you can get three Brittanys on the seat of a car, if they sit on your lap you can still see t TV.  They don't dribble.  etc

Sounds like the start of a joke..........................

'How many Brittanys can you fit in a BMW?'

Answer:  None, I wouldn't let a Brittany near my precious BMW Wink

Depends how fast you can drive away when the husband finds out you've filled it with Brittanies.........

I think I would like a Bracco....after being next to them on the Discover Dogs stand I thought they were much more relaxing than these mad dogs what I have here [and who has just brought in half a rotting fence pole and chewed it ALL over the new carpet Question  Question ]

I might have to change my mind - I let one out into a clients walled garden, now you don't expect to loose a dog in a walled garden but it jumped the wall (OK only about four feet high but there was an 10ft drop into an alley - so that wasted half an hour of the working day.  One of the others decided the ear pieces of my sunglasses needed restyling, and the third found my secret stash of biscuits to sustain me on the drive home.

On the way home i thought I would give them a free run in a stock wired field I know - two rolled in fox turd, such that I could hardly breath on the final bit home and the third decided that after such a good run and a lap of water the only thing left to do was to be sick in a big way on the lounge carpet!
