Weimaraner Association - Agility Show with a DifferenceThe Weimaraner Association is to host their very first KC licensed Open Agility Show on June 6th and 7th of this year. It will not just be any ordinary agility show, but a celebration of ABC dogs!
For those of you not familiar with agility terms ABC means “Anything But Collie”. The majority of classes are scheduled to be “special ABC” classes, which means they will not be open to any Border Collies, Working Sheepdogs or their crosses. However, there will be one “special Non-ABC” class each day for anyone that does have collies.
Collies excel at agility and at most competitions the proportion of Collies can be approximately 85% of the dogs. The majority of handlers with ABC dogs are at a distinct disadvantage, especially the larger breeds, when it comes to competing against collies.
For many years, there have been a few agility shows that host perhaps one or two classes for ABC dogs. These classes are very popular and well supported, but to have the majority of classes for ABC dogs is an historical event!
The show is to be held at the Winterton Agricultural Society Show ground near Scunthorpe over two days and camping pitches are available for those wishing to stay over the weekend.
Anyone wanting further information about this very special agility show can contact the Competition Manager, Janet Hudson, by telephone for more details on 01472388742 or by email janet.hudson@talktalk.net . The closing date for entries is the 31st March.

Entry now in the hands of the postal service Entered both days, so all that needs to be done now is book in at a travelodge or similar.
See you there

The nearest travelodge was still a bit away. Janet was going to check out some B&B's for me.
I think we are going to travel in from home each day. See you there.

Oh was that you standing behind me at the end of today when I was doing the timing Sue?
This is the first agility show I have been to and really enjoyed it. Luckily the rain held off over Winterton but the winds were horrendous and the shop tent and our gazebo got a bit bent.
Certainly looking forward to next year but might just stay nearer this time as doing 120 mile trip everyday for 3 days was a bit much for my chauffeur.
This must be the Weimaraner Challenge at the end of yesterday. Will get names eventually......

Yes it was me, had wondered over to help pack up while waiting for the p&s results. My mad munsti was quite early to run in your class and had to dash for a run off against Mike and his young Vizsla in the Jumping
The travel lodge wasnt bad btw - was only about 15 mins from the showground and room was..well...like all other travel lodge rooms! Will use it again when go back up to venue in August - bloomin dog qualified for the 'First Contact' final
Hope you have a good holiday
