world's first commercial cloning of a pet dogA woman has stumped up £25,000 for five identical copies of Booger, her pit bull terrier and now has five identical copies of her pet.
Woud you clone your dog?

Nope - love them all but cloning just seems wrong to me for anything but medical advances and even that is fraught. If we all accept cloning pets etc etc where do we draw a line???????????

Definately not i think its totaly mad, for me thats what i love about my dogs their indivduality (looks and personality) and if one of them died i wouldnt want an exact copy to replace it.

I saw that on the lunchtime news. Not something I would do at all!
It will raise the questions - nature or nurture?

being able to clone a crufts supreme champion for all time - would present some problems for the Kennel Club

It would prove - interesting - if a field trial champion was cloned and the clone was sold to a mediocre handler who trained and trialled it , the dogs results would be very different . Making a good gundog has quite a lot to do with nurture.

even if you cloned the best show dog in the world judges opinions differ and others would not think it so wonderful.

I only have one word for this - WRONG

The whole idea is sick. Even if you get a physical double of your dog, you'll never get a mental copy, and it's the dog's character that's most important - to me anyway.
