He looks quite a strong swimmer already - none of this splashing around that Teal used to do!
I can only see one as well!

| This bit of the river was great for them as it started of really shallow then went deep enough for them to actually swim, Harris got the hang of it really quickly. |

how old is harris????
my pup had his first swan shot and dumped in a pond tonite, even in the half lite you could see his eye's bulge as big as dinner plates once he seen how big it was,, wasn't happy to pick it up but he did catch the next one that came in.
pups both done well today, 2 roosters for the afternoon. |

Harris is 7 months,
Nice pic kiwi. Brogan brought a dead pheasant to me the other day, at first I thought bugger he has pegged that against the fence, but when I took it from him, it had been dead a day or too. They are both very keen hunters and very good retrievers, the danger is though doing to much to soon.
Harris is hopefully going to be used for deer in the first instance, He has the potential to be a good allrounder, but hubby wants to concerntrate on his deer training first and for him to have one or two seasons on deer before he lets me use him on anything else. |

| two seasons is a big bite out of a dogs working life, both these pups have had deer before they even had a bird shot over them, i prefer them to get an early start on biggame...but the flipside is you don't get a big running gwp on birds, but i like my dogs working pretty close as i don't use a whistle as a rule. |

My husband is the same, his deer dogs have never had a bird shot over them, they are used purely for deer, but Harris I would like to use myself, but the deer work will come first.
Kiwi - see my post in OTHER - IF, any thoughts |
