Trying. We only have 3 weekends in Nelson and this was first and Queens Birthday 3 day weekend. Only saw 1 on Saturday was very depressed. Had whale of a time Sunday and never fired the gun they found and pointed 6 hens in 2 hrs. Then Jive went lame and I had to attend the poultry show. Having shampooed and blow dried the bantams on Friday I thought I should attend at some stage.
Monday Armand and I got the rooster and he found 2 hens afterward when I had my camera (we can only shoot 1 rooster a day).
The Sth Island is beautiful and I love it, but I sure wish we had the pheasant hunting of the North.

there's a few up here at the moment, last lot i seen i didn't even use the shotgun, tried an old english method of smacking them down with a feed bag tied to a baboo stick Laughing
