Ooo, aren't they lovely, come on where are all the SRP owners?!
I want to know:
How do you strip their coat, and how often, and how long does it take? If you take them to a groomer to do it, how much does it cost?
Do they smell more doggy than Weims, because of their longer coat hair?
Do they get stuff (food!) caught in their beards and is this bearable!?
How do they compare to a Weim in terms of temperament? I have heard they are quite aloof with strangers - is this right?
I know all dogs pull on the lead if not trained otherwise, but is it as hard to train them to walk on a loose lead as it is to train a Weim?
I have been told they are "easier around the house" than a Weim - what does this mean and is it true?!
Are they more keen on water than Weims?
Er, I'll stop there shall I? _________________ Slate and Grey

Hi
I am a newbie to the board and will post an introduction shortly but I have many pictures of Slovakian Rough Haired Pointers if you would like to see them.
The pictures already posted are Michal Urban's SRHs from Slovakia, I believe?

That is a lovely photo Daniela, but then I would say that because it looks like a Weim with a few whispy bits!! They all look so different, the SRPs that I've seen - if they all looked like this I'd have one in a flash! _________________ Slate and Grey

| This particular image is of a young SRH. I don't think the owner had stripped his coat in anyway. I will ask her for some more up-to-date images to see whether he has any more coat. |
