Hi there everyone
I am a wirehair enthusiast (nut) who is seriously into versatile hunting.
Rough Shooting (particularly snipe and woodcock), Deer Stalking, Wildfowling and Fox control.
We have both wirehaired pointers and wirehaired teckels.
Most of our dogs are either sourced from Denmark or bred from Danish/Swedish bloodlines.
I have been 'spectating' for a while and am looking forward to becoming an active participant.
Cheers

Hi and welcome to the forum. I share the same persuits as yourself , particularly dogs , rough shooting and fox control. I look forward to some of your posts.
By what method do you control foxes out of interest ?? I do alot of lamping when I get the chance .

Hi from another wirehair (any breed) enthusiast. My first wirehaired dog was a lurcher but now I have a GWP.
Love to see pics of the Teckels!

Thanks for the welcome
As for fox control Barry, I do a bit of nightshooting and also use the teckels to 'drive' or flush foxes from cover to posted guns/rifles and occasionaly to bolt foxes from holes.
The pointers are trained to follow up and retrieve foxes if neccessary.
We have two further teckels in DK at the moment both of which were at two underground fox tests or 'gravprove' last weekend. In this test the teckel must show the judge under controlled circumstances both his braveness and tactical ability to move the fox around an artificial earth. The fox shall not be hurt during this test indeed dogs which seek direct contact are thrown out and if they persist in this are not allowed at further trials. Our older dog got two first prizes and was named best dog in test.
It might not be everyones cup of tea over here but the Danes maintain it is the best way for them to selectively breed teckels with the right talents i.e. brave but not reckless.
As for pictures I would love to post some but haven't worked that bit out yet.
