Sounds great Ben. She looks a right little cutey but that expression is one that is full of mischief I love the border!
Helen is a dab hand at action shots btw

Mike - it was the flooded meadow below my place, wher Harley did his dogged retrieves - today all the water has gone.
This weekend she has been mostly flirting with the pub dog.
Pics in a few days of her pointing a muntjac. _________________ Spitting Feathers |

well - forgot to take photos today - I have been out decoying the pigeons again today on the rape stubble and it is a real pain without a dog to retrieve for you. Anyhow every time i get home I have let Coco smell and look at the birds. Today I took it a step further and lobbed a few stoddies about for her to retrieve, tighter feathers than the woodies so a bit friendlier in the mouth!
She brought them straight back on the whistle everytime - i am super chuffed! She thought they were so much fun that she looked a bit miffed when they all went into the ferret court.
These pigeons are costing me a fortune in cartidges..... _________________ Spitting Feathers |

Hi Ben, I used to spend a fortune on cartridges for pigeon shooting. My worst ever day was during a strong gale . Only 1 bird for 19 cartridges. The pigeons could even fly backwards faster than I could shoot. My best ever day was when I was 20years old ,shooting with an old 12bore 5 shot pump action at pigeon flighting into a wood. No deeks , just me hidden behind a drystane dyke with the farmer whos ground I was on supplying the cartridges. I think I shot 242 or 243 pigeons in a little over two hours. I sometimes had 3 pigeons dead in the air at the same time. My labrador was knackered but very happy. Those birds just kept on coming - and so did the farmer with yet more cartridges !
Nowadays the farmer would probably ask me to to pay to shoot the pests that were massacaring his crops !

Had another 35 today making the total for 3 days this week just shy of 200. It is hard work without a dog to retrieve and keep the pattern tidy.

Today's walk:
Kt took them out this morning whilst I was clay-pigeoning - looking forward to doing some more swimming training soon - a trip to the water park could well be on the cards. Is she the least hairy GWP on record? _________________ Spitting Feathers |
