PS A Brittany went BIS at Mid Herts yesterday and I do believe it works but then this won't be of interest to working Brit owners will it now!

We are always interested as we are still a dual purpose breed, any idea of the name of dog and owner ?

It was Mabeleen (Gill Tully's E Bracken)I think and although I think doesn't work as yet, may be in training I believe. _________________ Aberdon HPR's. Good-looking AND Intelligent.
Your own Brittany's from Germany have no doubt been graded for conformation coat and type ?
Buchse Baby had RBIS yesterday despite having 7 field trial awards.
Langhaar,
congrats on Busche Baby's RBIS.
Catja - yes I took her back to Germany so she could have a grading and am taking her back again next week so she can have it done as an adult. I probably won't put her through German hunting tests though. She has also been under French judges in France.
I think pedigree, conformation and field ability are together the cornerstones. Which is why I like the idea behind the continental system that a dog must hold gradings for work and show before being bred. I am also sufficient of a realist to see that not all dogs can be Champions and not all owners want a working dog.
Congratulations to Gill and Mabeleen going BIS. Gill is a very experienced and time served handler, to get that far is a fair reflection of her/their abilities, I for one study closely how she shows her dog. _________________ Guy; Ellie Topaz Catja. http://www.epagneulbreton.org.uk
