Visited a shop in Bloxham yesterday which is one of the main outlets for HW prints .

Two orange and white cobby Brittanies in a print I'd not seen before.
Rare to see this breed pictorally so thought it might be of interest.
We like his GSP's and GWP's.

I'm probably over critical as you all are about your own breeds, but the muzzles look long and snipy to me, and not sure about their 'cobbiness' being too evident.  But a pretty picture none the less.

What does 'cobby' mean?

In some of the breeds he doesn't quite get the heads right.Only a cursory glance as it's not my breed but print is better than the photo.
Cobby as in a cob , square body with a leg at each end, like a welsh cob.
Vizsla head on his print is long in the foreface, didn't like that at all.I think I saw a weimaraner one, is that right Greyghost?
Do like Leon Danchin prints, no weim tho but there is one of 2 Brits. His setters and pointers are glorious. Have you seen these?

I LOVE Leon Danchin's work.  I have the one with the two Brittanys(or rather Epagneul Bretons) on point - second one.  I have Number 80 of 120 of that one.  Bought in 1987.  Not sure who the artisit is of the first one - anybody know? Saw it on Ebay - as you can see from the little logo on the lower right

Have a book of all his life story and prints written in English but bought in France.Bought some pointer prints some time ago and recently the head of the GWP.
He hunted with pointers and setters, his pictures capture the very essence of all the breeds he painted. Love 'em, wish I was rich!!!

Me too. Pat (Benreeda) has one of his of a GWP.  Mine cost £80 in 1987. wonder what I'd have to pay for it now?

More than what you paid  Laughing

Modern artists I do like Keith Sykes , he uses scrapperboard which is a good medium for long coated dogs. I don't think he's done a Brittany but he will take commisions .

His cocker heads are fantastic

What breed is that one you just posted, Langhaar, is it in mono as it doesn't look like a Langhaar really otherwise.
