I believe his name will now read Ch/Dutch Ch Freddy vom Kapellenhof at Bareve W'07 (Deu Imp) - we might be able to use W'08 as he was Best Dog but I need to check that suffix.
No Peter he isn't an International Champion as he hasn't got his CACIB's in different countries plus the FCI will not recognise his KC Field Trial awards as a record of his working ability. He has to have one of the versatile tests so if they think I'm going to let Freddy take a backward step and re-learn his fanatical tracking on hares they can think again!!! Quite frankly I doubt I shall bother to go any more as the time away from home is quite a long time when I've got dogs at home. Plus some of the so called "judging" leaves a lot to be desired. The topic of conversation at the hotel from the other British exhibitors was just that - Dutch judges putting Dutch dogs up, Scandinavian judges putting Swedish and Danish dogs up - not much better than the claims over here in the UK despite the perception that the judges don't know who the exhibitors are
In one breed we watched on the first day - Champions class - there was a father and son who were like two peas in the pod and a third dog who was very different in type being bigger and more moderately angulated - result father, other dog and then son - so you had the two similar types at either end of the line rather than together! _________________ Sharon Pinkerton

Excellent Kerry I will be taking the rescue photos to LKA from those people who didn't send an envelope for the return so pls remember to come and pick up your photos. Doubt I will be at the benches for long as we have our trade stand there for the first time so the envelope will be on there. _________________ Sharon Pinkerton

First of all, congrats! I have to say I don't really see that Dutch judges putting Dutch dogs up, but I haven't been to a lot of shows (thank goodness).
Second, if your dog got BOB or BOS (best of breed of best opposite sex), you do get the Winner title!!!! Congrats again.
Third, you don't have to do the HZP or VGP in order to become international champion. My 2 bitches earned the title with field trial qualifications. I do have to say though that the field trials in Holland are far more difficult than the English ones. I haven't seen this myself, but a friend of mine judges both here and on the other side of the pond. Belgium on the other hand and France are less difficult than Holland.
On the other hand, if your dog is a good hunter and pointer, he'll be able to get tha qualification of course. It would take some time and a lot of money though for all the travelling and entry fees of course......
