Congratulations Chris.

But what is a "spring ch"?  Do you have champs for different seasons?! Question

Hi Josie !

Yes we have several championships.

For Autumn or spring Ch, you need:
males: 4 x 1rst EXC with CACT
females: 3 x 2 nd EXC with RCACT
only one CACT or RCACT can be earned in FT special of breed (only weims). The other CACT or RCACT have to be earned in all breed FT or 4 breedsFT.
We have several autumn Ch but only 3 spring ch (2 females and 1 male) since last year.

Once you are spring ch, you can continue but only in braces.
It is the same for autumn ch.

For CHT, you need CACT in spring solo and braces + CACT in autumn solo and braces....well 4 CACT.
We have none actually. The hardest to earn in the CACT in spring braces.

For CHGN (wild game), you need 2 CACT on two different wild game (only snipe, woodcock and moutain game).
We have none actually.

Breed Ch + year.
You need to earn the six bests placements in the year in your breed.

Chris

Uh, that is very complicated!!

So:

You have different requirements for males and females?  (Females need less to be ch?)

What is the difference between the autumn and the spring trials?  Is it that the game is a different species, so they give you a different title for it?

They are called 'trials' but are similar to our Spring pointing tests and Working tests as no game is shot on those.  If anyone has the opportunity to visit the Continent and go to one of their Trials I can thoroughly recommend it.  We are going to France again this year for the CEB National d'Elevage, but unfortunately they also have their AGM so no TAN or Trials this year.

Yes, it is easier for the females. We consider it's more difficult to become Ch because of their heats.

Well, on wild game (spring, snipe, moutain game and woodcocks, sometimes pheasans). We don't shoot them and use an alarm gun. The dog has to run, point and be steady without caring at any hare....

On autumn FT, we run on planted game. We shoot pheasans and partridges.
The  dog has to run, point, be steady and retrieve on the order whitout caring at hares and dears.

Yes the titles are different. I autumn you can earn the CH.A (autumn ch) which is different of the CH.P (spring ch).

Between September and december we  run too the BICP (hunting test on 32 pts).
One part on planted game and one part on ducks at water.

Chris
