Hi All,
Just joined the forum and wanted to say hi. Rufus, my 9 month old Korthals, are just about to do our Gundog Club grade one test. Has anyone done this?
Tell me about your experience.

He's a little star! Training has been going pretty well, he is bright and intelligent and picks things up very quickly. He's got a lovely temperament and is pretty steady even at this age. Definitely Hunt, then Point then Retrieve, his retrieving is proving to be one of the hardest areas, Not  stubboness, but he still wants to play, although he has improved over the past month. From what I've heard they do mature a bit more slowly than other HPR breeds, although he is the youngest in the training group which includes 3 GSP's, a Visla and a Wirehaired Vis he is in no way behind.
I'll post some pics as soon as I work out how to do it !

It sound s like you are putting the time in, don't be put off by a slow maturing dog i have Brittanys and they take a while to fully focus and become a full HPR. I found its easier long term not to push to hard they are still young in the head, be consistant and keep it fun, that way the journey is more pleasurable for both you and the dog,it works for me.

Ah Ha! Pictures not so difficult. Most of my pics are of Roo as a pup so I'll try and get some more now he's more grown up. The biggest problem is that digital cameras are slow and he isn't!
